Some galactic defender you are, Space Cadet.
/StarCitizen: The Updated Roadmap

Expectations are being “rightsized” with a slow, dutiful chiseling.

quote:

TBH the 3.1 release was more about bugfixing/polishing than anything else besides new ships and new beacon system. Some stuff still doesn't sound right but marked "released": weapon balance, damage overhaul (which is a bit loaded, could be explosion gfx improvements instead), IFCS (nope), PMA improvements (yeah ok but it's so minor that I hope they just do that over time. I'm not sure what to expect from 3.2 besides this new mining mechanic that I personally can't access yet not having a mining ship of my own, and UI wide I'm always prepared for the worst now. It certainly still feels like 3.0++, maybe group features will have a positive impact but that remains to be seen given the UI/UX track record so far.

I find it very underwhelming to find tangible universe gameplay like Location Security being removed from the roadmap too but fortunately things like FOIP and new locations might save us all from alpha fatigue and boredom.

TLDR I am seeing a slow but sure downscaling of 2018 expectations, still hoping to be surprised but I am now looking forward 2019 to see a consolidation of things like multicrew gameplay, improved ship boarding, AI trade routes, defended stations/bases (AI/humans), new starmap UI, looting, player identification, money transfers, real cargo piracy, tractor beams modules, better news broadcasting, galactic stock market UI, decompression, multi physic grid for ship, hostile environments (temperature, explosion/lava/acid, atmosphere/weather/gas clouds). Realistically this seems to be 2 years away given the current progress :(

It’s seemed two years away for the last six. Kind of makes you think...

Last year was a great year for games, and had 2 standout soundtracks -

Neir: Automata got (i think) think soundtrack of the year, and is an amazing work of art...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUGZzp6kY60
(The live concert) I use this as background while painting tiny plastic spacemen

and Persona-5; fantastic all round, but for me this one stands out "Rivers in the Desert"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaIo82uT0qs

I'm also upset that "Protectors of the Earth" by Two Steps From Hell is now used for everything from the Rugby to an advert for a loving Oven. That's Mass Effect... and this is it, isn't it

Ahhh, slacking off the gimmick;

ISO 4202
Reduction sleeves with external 7/24 taper for tools with Morse taper shanks
Specifies the dimensions of reduction sleeves with external 7/24 taper (Nos. 30, 40, 45, 50 and 60) for tools with Morse taper shanks (Nos. 1 to 6).

All these sleeves allow driving of tools having Morse taper shanks which have a tenon at the small end of the shank; some sleeves allow driving of tools having Morse taper shanks which have an axially tapped hole in the shank:
- with the use of an incorporated screw for sleeves 30 × 1 ? 40 × 1 ? 40 × 2 ? 45 × 1 ? 45 × 2 ? 45 × 3 ? 50 × 2 ? 50 × 3 ? 50 × 4 ? 60 × 3 ? 60 × 4 ? 60 × 5;
- with the use of a draw bar for sleeves 30 × 1 ? 30 × 2 ? 40 × 1 ? 40 × 2 ? 40 × 3 ? 45 × 1 ? 45 × 2 ? 45 × 3 ? 45 × 4 ? 50 × 2 ? 50 × 3 ? 50 × 4 ? 50 × 5 ? 60 × 3 ? 60 × 4 ? 60 × 5 ? 60 × 6.

Morse tapers conform to ISO 296 while 7/24 tapers are in accordance with ISO 297.

Better know a standard!

They are fuckin' great, but anyone who says it was the chip that made the music is wrong, wrong, wrong. For every C64 game that had a Rob Hubbard soundtrack, there were three dozen more that either had no music or just put in some public domain classical tune and called it a day
