Dumb to trade up for him in round 2, but this is a FO that took Solomon Thomas at 3rd overall and Mike McGlinchy at 9. They're still figuring out this whole draft thing.

49ers draft has really been pretty bad so far. McGlinchy and Pettis were both pretty big reaches, and Warner is just kind of meh (I like Tarvarius Moore). I hope they have another amazing 4th and 5th rounds, like last year, or their rebuild is going to stall out. They’ve shown a real tendency to target “their guys” in both FA and the draft, and pay a huge premium to ensure they get them. i posted this in the draftermath thread but i feel like the cardinals are getting good secondary guys instead of trying to replace fitz and, i guess, aq shipley right away. the draft this year wasn't really built for what they need but they could fill holes and still go bpa. i feel like they still need a cornerback and they should do something at TE, and at least corner needs to be a real home run swing pick, they've had third and fourth tier guys but nobody really there to be robin to PP since cromartie

if the cardinals don't sign any more free agents the training wheels are really gonna come off with some of the younger guys, that's all i can really say. andre smith, fitz, bethea, andy lee, and phil dawson raise the average service years in the nfl of the team by .8. this team got really young really quick
