The SAA (or affiliated militias) launched an attack on the SDF east of the Euphrates today, and seem to have captured some territory/done some damage this time before being pushed back or withdrawing. It'll be interesting to find out more about what happened and why, but so far it seems like the US response was pretty limited.

There's like zero chance that the Kurds will give up the oil fields there (or that the US would let that happen, for that matter) without some pretty major political settlement happening. Especially now that the Afrin campaign is over, the SDF isn't really over-extended, and I can't imagine they lost a strategically-significant amount of men or materiel there. Or some weird sudden collapse of the Syrian Kurds, like when Barzani overstretched his hand.
