lol. I went up the road because "gently caress those turrets, this is the tutorial and I have heavy mechs." while Dekker flanked around the mountain. Dekker had to take 3 turns worth of shooting at point blank to blow up the gen ( because he is TERRIBLE ), but we got out of it fine with only my PC taking a hit. Then we dealt with the Shadowhawk with no problems. Last bit was hard only because I didn't see the second gen, which led to Dekker getting LETHAL DAMAGED FROM FULL HEALTH BY A TANK, THANKS DEKKER and my PC getting a second hit. Only issue I had was the 50 days penalty for it. I think it'd have been nicer to have a max 20-25 penalty just for that mission so you can do dumber poo poo and learn a little.

Yeah, I just want to turn the storyline off. My current campaign is pretty much shot where I had a real bad run and my Mechs and good pilots are screwed for longer than my finances will hold out. That's fine and I normally have no problems with games where I lose, but learn from it and start again to do better. Having to deal with all the story stuff again is killing my enthusiasm a fair bit. I know I can edit some stuff and skip to the Argo but I really just want all the story stuff stripped out so I can play a basic merc company from the start, without the story stuff intruding and reminding me it's there all the time.

The patch definitely overwrote the VersionManifest.csv file so hopefully you have a backed up version of your modded .csvs if you added new assets or items.

I did it. I hired a mechwarrior who gets hurt more often than my main character. How much more? Average of just a bit more than 4 injuries per deployment so far. You poor bastard.

Whew just had a Battle type mission in a lunar environment against two full Assault lances with no armor debuffs (so full stock loadouts). That was a brutal slog. Five skull missions on max difficulty worlds are no joke. Especially when it's a lunar environment with no ice anywhere. I build my mechs to handle heat but chewing through 8 assault mechs in lunar conditions stretches even the most heat efficient mech to the breaking point. Luckily one of my ace pilots got two gauss headshots over the course of the fight which took out a full health King Crab and Highlander respectively. If he hadn't made those called shots I would have had to throw my avatar to the wolves to make sure we didn't lose someone else permanently. Those shots being made let me come through with barely any internal damage and luckily I had maxed out salvage. The quad King Crab dream is here at last!

The Highlander-733P, if its the one I'm thinking of, loses the ability to mount any kind of ballistics in favor of PPCs. I'd rather have an AC-20, but a PPC isn't bad if I have to, and its still doing just fine for itself even if it is a bit slow. I'd take that over the Victor, which hasn't done much for me.

This game rules school and I'm so happy to see tabletop Battletech rekindled for a new generation. I also would pay $199 each for a good dynamic campaign, aerotech and citytech expansions.

They demolished my lightly armored Orion but Rib Eye survived thanks to the +2 injury resist cockpit mod I had on there. She's out for 17 days vs Dekker who's out for 34 with only 1-2 injuries??? I honestly vastly prefer fighting one really strong lance vs fighting two weaker lances at once.

The triggering the trap style missions seem to get hilarious later on. My trap was an Orion, supported by a K2, and a shadowhawk and locust, and Shrek tank. After I killed most of those, the reinforcements arrived, Kintaro, Hunchback, griffon, centurion They overheated like mad trying to kill me, and ended up taking out my main character and Glitch, both of which survived I am assuming due to both good medical on the Argo and the cockpit mods. It's the first time I saw mechs go insane overheating and actually shutting down. Re the Behemoth, Amaris secretly continued his experiment with the Superheavy Omega through to late Jihad, which was successful but a little late in the piece. I sold my HPG tower and Omega model recently, it was a really fun "boss" piece, especially since it can control baby drone mechs. Really fun as part of a campaign.

That's kinda silly, especially when many mechs have a few different variant models. 732b, 733 and 733p for the Highlander, for instance. The only real difference between any of the mechs is their available weight and slots, unless you play zoomed in tight all the time.

For my last 10 missions or so I've been rolling with an LRM Jager, 2xAC5/PPC Jager, AC20 Orion, and AC10/SRM Orion. I took a 3.5 skull mission to kill off some wounded mechs and fought a Thunderbolt, Awesome, Highlander, and Stalker. Awesome went down quick to concentrated fire and an ammo explosion. I danced around with the Highlander and finally took out the pilot. The Thunderbolt dug in but I wore him down. The Stalker didn't get into the fight until the Thunderbolt was mostly dead. A few lucky shots later and he went down to pilot injuries too. I had 3 salvage picks so I took the Stalker..and got all 3 parts of the Highlander! Then the game crashed. I couldn't even get angry. I knew getting two assaults like that was super lucky but still. Of course I wasn't saving in the mission either, only at the start. I ran it again savescummed a bit but was only ably to get the Highlander. I guess it wasn't meant to be. 20+ hours and only 2 crashes isn't bad, thought it sucks that both were after the salvage screen but before an autosave kicked in. Other than that though I'm loving the game. Can't wait for DLC.

Remains one of my favorite games to this day. One of my favorite bits was the freaking sweet manual, with the schematics for all the mechs (MW2 and Ghost Bear had imo the best manuals of any games ever). When I found out the game was based on a whole tabletop system, I was so loving stoked. I got my dad to drive me to the store and madly searched for Battletech books. I found one of the technical readouts, 3025 Revised if I recall correctly, and whipped that sucker open to a random page. I was greeted by this...uh...masterpiece: I was fuckin shook. I don't know that I ever really recovered. Probably why I still nurse a grudge against the Inner Sphere and their ugly, stupid rear end mechs. Thank god for FlyingDebris.

Find the first Orion and the first Grasshopper of my week 69 campaign. Knock the Grasshopper unconscious and leg the Orion. I had gone most money because it was an escort and the mission didn't even mention a lance. The only mech piece RNG gets me is a Locust. :AGSDSGAWRLE:
