Libertarians are just right wing assholes who want to do something that's currently illegal. That's basically the sole difference these days.

New Daily surveyed MPs about whether they could live on Newstart or had ever lived on benefits:quote:Turnbull government MPs have refused to say whether they could live on $40 a day – about the current rate of Newstart – as the nation debates the current rate of welfare payments ahead of next week’s budget. Well it looks like we can be sure of one thing all Liberals can agree on.

In an ideal world the dole would be reset to a percentage of the current average full time wage every year. Of course politicians hate automatic things like that because they like to have the freedom to stomp poor people to bolster the budget so it'll never happen.

Maybe if they lobbied their own members to increase wages people would be spending more.

Thats not inconsistent from the BCAs perspective at all - they want people to have more money to buy their members stuff, but dont want their members to pay higher wages, so of course the government should step in and give people the money to spend. So more public money ends up in the coffers of their members - easy Morally reprehensible? Sure. Inconsistent - no way.
