I think it's a parts bin thing/convenience. Not a commercial vehicle, but it's why the Lotus Esprit used 1983 Toyota Sprinter Trueno Hatchback taillights for like 15 years.

Maybe real gold? https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/d/1983-saab-900-turbo/6575043437.html I don't need another car right now unless it's an offroad-capable 4x4, but this looks pretty neat. (I'm gonna bid on that Land Rover I posted earlier, the price is still low and I was able to go test drive it)

Like opengl128 mentioned it can be really useful when looking for older models of a common car. Typing in "BMW 3 series" vs "BMW e30" will give you very different results.

An MR2 is probably going to be bought by a car nerd though so the chassis code thing is probably completely warranted.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. Chassis codes make a ton of sense for BMWs, MR2, RX-7, Wranglers and a few other super enthusiast cars. You're an idiot to get butt hurt over someone using an AW11. (Because I also own and search for AW11s)

You know it! quote:Home made Mini bike 440 Kholer snow mobile engine with a five speed gear box. Runs good. Needs a little bit of work still to be done i just lost interest in it. Needs a brake assembly, could get it at princess auto for 100$, front fender and the electrical needs to be hooked up everything is there. So 400 or obo or trade for something with a motor

Even though GM bobbled the launch really badly (launching a sports car with 92hp was a bad joke even in 1984,) they were really on to something in terms of chassis dynamics and powertrain with the 1988 redesign. On the flip side, it is also a 1988 Pontiac, which should be self-explanatory.

If you are going to buy a Fiero, buy an 88. Even then it was immediately known as the apex of them, without the 30 years of hindsight. That said, MrYenko posted:On the flip side, it is also a 1988 Pontiac, which should be self-explanatory.

Almost too nice for a winter beater or something. The interior looks almost as good with some minimal wear corresponding to 80k km. I guess the catch is that it's an automatic with 1.0l but it can still only appreciate in value, right?
