Just finished Cobra Kai. I really, really enjoyed it. Just a quality show not relying on nostalgia to appreciate.

Is it worth the ten bucks for a month of YouTube Red?

It's five hours of quality entertainment if you want to measure it that way. However, like most streaming services, you can get a free month of Red as a trial like I did. I also got some laughs out of Do You Want to See a Dead Body? Definitely not paying for Red after the month is up though.

If you have Spotify it's worth considering switching to Google play for the free YT Red sub. They are the same price and have the same content and it's a pretty nice bonus. I haven't watched an ad on a Youtube video in years and I don't think I could ever go back. I honestly didn't even know wtf Red was until it just showed up on my page one day since I had Google play way before Red existed. Thought it was for porn or something

Red is possibly worth it if you watch a lot of youtube on your phone. The feature to keep videos playing in the background is pretty sweet and ad free is a nice perk.

It's definitely worth the free trial if you just wanna watch cobra kai.

I tried switching to Google Play several times and always went back to Spotify: It's far more annoying to download your offline library and there always seems to be an added delay in playing a song compare to Spotify (at least on my Android Phone). Also, all of Spotify's generated Playlists (like Discover Weekly et al) are far superior IMHO.

Europe doesn't have Youtube Red so it has even less appeal to me. Still, anyone else have these problems with Google Play Music?

Farewell, good Hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

I must’ve messed up somewhere. After signing up for a subscription at red tube.com I am unable to find cobra Kai anywhere, but geez is my ad blocker being swarmed. I have had to force shutdown my browser twice now. Also I did not think YouTube red would have these kinds of videos?

I'd say Cobra Kai is very much worth $10 if you don't have a free trial option. The whole series is fantastic and hopefully we'll get a season 2.

Without free Youtube Red I don't think there would be any reason to switch. Spotify probably is better outside of that bonus. I actually just did a Spotify trial (I used to have it years ago but I have a new card, so new trial) and if I didn't have the bonus Youtube poo poo I'd switch. It's a little better for sure.

I’ve only seen one I think, it didn’t really grab me. I just wanted horrible things to happen to all of the characters.

That's pretty much what happens to them.

If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth checking out. It blends a lot of different types of humor together and it all works. If you have Netflix it's free, so what have you got to lose.

I didn't care much for it back when it was airing but I warmed up to it later down the road and watched it all on DVD. Something about it really rubbed me the wrong way at first. I still don't think it's as classic as people make it out to be, but it's a good show with some really funny parts and an entertaining story.

I think the reason AD gets trotted out as a classic is due to the fact that it was one of the early pioneers of the laugh track free sitcom. It wasn't reliant on a machine to tell you what was or was not funny like everything else at the time.

Or, you know, that it's dense joke format delivered by a cast with strong comedic timing makes it incredibly rewatchable.

Both. Arrested Development was one of the first laugh-track free sitcoms, but it is also incredibly dense with jokes. I've watched the series maybe four (?) times all the way through, not counting the terrible S4, and I still catch things.

E: Each one of those orange tics, each one, is its own joke with its own lineage page. The show is 100% jokes.

Hell, there are jokes set up in the first season that still haven't fully come full circle, like Tobias actually being black but suffering from a pigmentation disorder, or GOB constantly suffering heart attacks.
