Can the US regain its world standing if the next president just outright says the last guy was a moron? Didn’t republicans do the same to Obama with the Iran deal? Say that the next admin can back out?

everyone could always count on the US being a bit loopy and knocking off the odd world leader or two but on the whole being a stabilising force in the world. i'm gonna guess that following gulf war 1, that's gone steadily downhill to the point where we fully expect them to be the children at the table throwing their toys around the fact that trump wasn't immediately laughed off the stage when he put himself forward is, as joe said above, a damning indictment of who you are i would really love to be wrong but the damage being done right now is going to take years to undo if not generations

To me, this administration is best summed up by my feelings on having kids: I would love to have kids one day, but I really don’t want to have kids grow up in this stupid world, especially since That Works posted:I said it the morning after the election to a friend: "We don't really come back from this. Whatever legacy or mystique of legacy we had is done and it'll take a generation or two for americans to realize it." So I’ve pretty much just written off the idea of ever having kids and it’s actually sad for me to think about.

Yeah there's plenty of damage being done just to the self image of a good bit of the country let alone how people in other parts of the world see us. This is way beyond electing Bush twice. 9/11 dispelled my young notions the the CIA was just like Mission Impossible and the Trump election dispelled my belief that my country was -mostly- filled with rational, empathetic people.
