there's nothing forcing old people to suck, all you need to do is still have empathy for other people. my mom's starting to hit the "old person reactionary" point and her excuses for poo poo are so weak, like, you're not mad about Colin Kaepernick because you're "old", you just can't be bothered to think about how lovely police violence is.

i mean i had another great-aunt who was actually in nazi germany in 1936, and whose father was a us nazi supporter. nobody in our generation will grow up with this experience as being normal at least.
