From a long time ago. Perfect words. It's exactly how I felt. Prometheus had some great scares (that c-section scene...fuuuuuuck) and was a solid movie. Covenant was like a loving bad soap opera (oh poo poo the evil twin switched places!! woow there are grade 3 students that may not have seen that one coming!) that needs to be buried and forgotten.

I’ve been watching all the Marvel Universe movies in order again thanks to this thread. Iron Man 2 was great and I will not hear otherwise. (Although growing up with a very troubled Robert Downey Jr, I was a little uncomfortable with his drunk scenes but hey if he’s fine I’m fine.)

even the comic storyline of Mandarin that went alongside the movie was absolutely blechworthy. I'm still mad Marvel fired Jim Starlin and refuse to buy another comic from them until he comes back or scores some kinda legends contract. He's only responsible for nearly all of the Marvel Universe's cosmology.

Thor 2 sucks because Malekith in the comics is basically Dark Elf Joker with god-like magic powers aka the scariest loving thing ever and in the movie he's basically a walking hunk of cardboard labeled Villain.

This and AIM being a pretty much a non-entity are the two biggest wastes of villains in the MCU. Even the Avengers Porn Parody had the decency to include the beekeeper outfits. Marvel has no excuse. One of my favorite comic stories was when the Dark Elves were having an election, so Malekith started going around secretly murdering all his rivals. When Thor revealed to the other Dark Elves what Malekith had been doing he was immediately and unanimously voted as leader of the Dark Elves. Thor was all "But he went around lying and scheming and murdering his opponents!" and the Dark Elves were all "And that's exactly the kind of thing we look for in a good leader!  "
