Basically you walk around from place to place like 7th Guest and Myst and Shiver and such but the pre-rendered transitions of you turning around and such are really nice and there's also real time 3D areas that are basically the game's dungeons. These areas have you trying to certain exits/etc. while running into stuff and the interface for the combat is in character with a lot of the enemies being "apparition of obscure insect that inhabits everyone's mind in some mythologies" and such. The soundtrack is very highly regarded with good reason as well. Despiria unfortunately never got ported to anything but Kowloon's Gate is on the PSN so you have a PS3/etc. you can play it easily if you know Japanese. There's faqs too though. That reminds me of my favorite FMV game ever, Alive. Holy fuckin' poo poo that game rules for an FMV game. It just has tons of options and the budget for it must have been massive for the time. It's basically Run Lola Run but in a Japanese near future setting, with multiple shootout scenes with squibs and everything, car chases, fight scenes in burning buildings, it's got it all. Really enjoying Kiwami. I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I didn't play 0 and know all the characters. They did an awesome job making a prequel.

Sony bend just did a bunch of game informer preview vids for days gone. They say they arent a big part of e3 this year so they are getting their exposure now i guess. Early 2019 Open world action rpg Bike maintenance and upgrades Outpost taking/ base fortifying Dynamic weather/emergent gameplay Etc. So its win win either you are looking forward to the game and you learn its coming along smoothly for a marchish release or you dont care about the game and you can rest easy free from fear that a 3rd 5 min hype trailer for another zombie game is putting a damper on this years conference.

They aren't a big part of E3 this year because Last of Us 2 is more important and Sony probably doesn't want to have two zombie games at their show, since Days Gone bumped TLoU 2 to PSX it's their turn now. Makes me wonder if Ghosts of Tsushima and Shadows Die Twice are both gonna be at Sony this year. Do you have a link to any of those vids maybe they're good?

I always love in media like this that until the zombie plague happened, the concept of what a 'zombie' is just didn't exist until that point. No zombie movies, no zombie video games, no zombies as a pen and paper concept, etc, etc. They are always a pure world that has never heard the word 'zombie'. "So are there zombies in your game?" "No we call them Freakers." "But they're basically zombies right?" "We call them Freakers." It's OK guys. You can call them zombies, and everyone will know what you're talking about.

When it first got announced I was like "yeah ok that's pretty cool I guess" but there is so much of the same poo poo floating around it's of zero interest now.

After playing some of the zombie games I have in the past on PC, I am just ready for one that isn't a tedious shitfest that doesn't cater to people grinding. Im looking at you 7 days to die. Also, it sucks that Sony kind of killed off Syphon Filter. I wouldn't mind playing a updated version of it. I had some really fun times with Syphon Filter 1 and 2 on PSone.
