If you want to try an OTC solution first try downing 4-5 grams of l-arginine about 20-30 minutes before getting busy. Most drug stores carry it in the supplements section, and if it works you can get it from Amazon for about $0.08/gram in tablets and about half of that powdered.

It's a standard vented furnace in a utility closet, condenser on the roof. The only thing that looks remotely special is the yellow tags that say 'SEER 18' and energy guide sticker that says 98% efficient.

The warranty company is literally throwing spaghetti against the wall now - I'm getting an hourly call from a contractir, get on the schedule for random day/time next week. Get a call shortly thereafter that they are not certified with the warranty company to service high efficiency units *or* they don't work on rooftop units, cancel appointment.

Well once you find the right company that WILL service it, you'll probably be glad you're not paying the crane rental fees that the warranty company will end up picking up to replace the rooftop unit, I guess?

I think the crap part of these warranties is that they are always serviced by the absolute cheapest companies, probably works ok for easy repairs but not for anything complex

I don't see where the high efficiency system is factored in. Maybe you need to do some hardcore bitching if they keep referring contractors who can't do the job they're supposed to because the company won't let them

Yeah I came to post this. The exclusion really seems to apply only to stuff like geothermal and mini splits. The old rear end condenser at my wife's old house says "high efficiency" which I suppose it was in 1991 but that's an ever changing definition.

The 18 seer Goodman probably features a two stage compressor and a variable speed fan. If they can't figure that out then WTF are they doing.

Goddamn the Post Office sucks at customer service.

Ordered some stuff off eBay, and it was marked as delivered in a Parcel Locker. It wasn't there.
Went to the post office, and they said they'd find the key and deliver it the next day. They didn't.

Went back again, and now they're saying it must be mail theft. Handed me a card which leads to a nearly useless website.

Yes, yes, and yes.

I went ahead and called a company I've used in the past. Intake to output temp delta was 12 degrees instead of the desired 15-18 degrees. It needed a pound of refrigerant.

Oh yeah, roof access was easy.

So going through the warranty, I had to wait 5 days for a technician who couldn't do anything, a company that scheduled 5 other technicians who couldn't do anything and cancelled, and it cost me $75 (and the previous owner $695 for the policy). Not going through the warranty I waited less than a day, got it resolved, and spent $200.

If it makes you feel any better, I got the HVAC back on at my wife's property that I'm remodeling to sell yesterday (I had to take some duct work apart to access part of it's terrible attic to work on some electrical), cause my painter was complaining about not being able to run the AC. Anyhow I stopped by today and the line and evap coil were frozen solid, because the blower fan apparently quit. Probably/hopefully a bad capacitor but none of the HVAC supply places are open on Saturdays anymore. Also the access to work on the unit is as awful as it gets.

Fun!

Gen 1 volts are so goddamn overbuilt. GM lost their rear end on each one they sold. Still, the Gen 2 is so much better in every aspect. I'd buy a gen 1 if I had charging at work, otherwise the range wouldn't be enough. Even despite hating the center stack. And I mean stack. Look at all those goddamn buttons. The worst is the power lock button on the dash.

Still, they're a really nice car, but you definitely feel the weight of it. The Gen 2 is much lighter and has a lot more balls.

Hell yeah thanks guys. I knew I recognized the catch can, and I did suspect the grounding kit on the left there had something to do with the electrical since all of those wires are blue (for speed).
The going theory is that this AZ-1 wasn't used on the street since its missing the inspection roundel thing that's in every Japanese street car's windshield. Guessing it was a track car for someone and it certainly seems like it's geared for that. Hoping it's got the Mazdaspeed suspension tucked underneath there to match the muffler, strut bar, hood and wheels.

New phones are great when they work!
I have LG Nexus 5 I've had for a while and it's getting up there in age. I recently bought a certified refurbished Google Pixel (the first gen one because I use the headphone port all the drat time) and it arrived with a hosed port. Exchanged that for another refurb and that one was fine for a few days until the audio just died. No microphone, no audio out of the speakers or headphone jack and when I tried calling someone they couldn't hear me nor I them. I just returned that (Amazon doesn't let you double-exchange I guess) and ordered yet another one, this time a 128 gig one from another seller for just a few bucks more. At least I kept my old phone around, Project Fi makes it ultra easy to swap between phones.
