Well I mean that's why we also have to implement an abolishment of prisons. If the focus is on restorative justice then there's no reason to have a group that exists solely to transport people to prison

The reason you say abolish is that it's much harder to walk back. It's an unabashedly radical position so if someone wants to work with us suddenly they have to support at least disarming the police. We are radicals. Even our soc dems are way to the left of the Democrats. Part of what we should be doing is moving the discourse so suddenly empty liberal professions aren't enough to get a Democrat elected anymore. And the way I would want to see public safety officers operate is fully and completely different from how it works now. I want the police abolished. What comes afterward needs to not be a huge militarized racist street gang.
