Congrats! Any tips? I placed at gold 2 but am now I slowly sliding toward silver, a trend I would really like to stop.

Not saying you do but the #1 tip for climbing is always "dont flame your teammates, even if they deserve it."

I had a toxic moment yesterday. Our Diablo was soaking in the lane adjacent to tribute. I said "let's contest, get in position" and he never came. Since he was so close I didn't really register that he wasn't staying. We ended up losing a few and the trib.

In that situation, what I should've done was say "sorry didn't see you weren't coming, we shouldn't have engaged" but instead I tried to "diplomatically" call him an idiot by saying "Next time, say something. You're allowed to have an opinion about when to engage, but if we make a call and you disagree you have to say something instead of just ignoring it." He said "muting you" and we ended up losing the game.

We had queued together as well. Random pick-up from /join teamleague, which is normally much better than HL, but I definitely could've handled it better.

Never speak to anyone for any purpose but basic coordination (“camps”) or something nice (“good pick”), anything else is pointless risk of an internal melt down.

Be flexible. I play more Warriors than anything simply because people are allergic to playing warriors or bruisers even, or especially, when our comp really needs them

It's a said state of affairs where you feel you were the toxic one in the situation. Like sure, you technically could have handled it better, in that you could have coddled what was almost certainly a grown rear end adult, but I dunno if that is the kind of responsibility we want to be putting on reasonable people.

never chat, just ping, any and all kind of words can make someone melt down, even a ping too much can get someone who has a bad day/losing streak to just explode and start throwing

Pre-emptive pings and communication are fine (I only ever use "on the way"). I use on the way a whole lot and I've never seen anyone get toxic because of it.

It's honestly really weird to me how fragile a lot of players seem to be. Like, I just played a Cursed Hollow where one player tilted themselves after we lost the level 1 brawl, who then didn't attend the first two tributes which caused another player to tilt off the map and feed the rest of the match.

I don't get any of it.

It's pretty hilarious because level 1 deaths are pretty much meaningless at all but the highest levels of play.

It's always the assassin who dives into the enemy team by himself despite being pinged to retreat multiple times during the level 1 brawl who cries GG too.

Had a game where the enemy Murky kept octograbbing me as my team retreated. Leaving me behind to get nuked by the enemy team.

So of course my team starts flaming me for dying but said they wouldn't kill Murky because it's not "worth it".

I've done it before in loving-around games and it's incredibly fun, the ultimate disrespect. You're spending two ults to kill one person but Octograb is on such a short cooldown it hardly matters.

Man, in QP Cain is SO feast or famine in terms of how awesome he is. If your team know what the gently caress is going on, he's just, insane, you win every teamfight and its not even close. If your team don't understand what potions are (HOW, ITS THE SAME AS LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE GAME YOU'VE EVER PLAYED INCLUDING THE ONE YOU ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING WHAT THE ACTUAL gently caress) then you feel like you're playing as an enfeebled old man who can draw on the floor, throw a cardboard box in the air and do a fancy fart... hmm...

...brb gonna go play some Cain.

Turning on quick cast for Cain's potions makes him much, much smoother to play. I just get annoyed that I can't hold the button down like lili.

It's not hard to throw potions directly on top of people you want to heal, it's easier than ana darts at least.

I feel way better about balance and ranked direction than a month ago, their july changes seem to be what everyonr wanted. Even I, one of the foremost tracer haters in NA, don't mind playing against her (much) with her changes and I'm back directing my hatred to where it belongs (towards Zagara).

I would like to see drafts sped up somehow, maybe by making the first four bans occur simultaneously between blue/red and between 1st/2nd highest mmr players (third bans could be blue/red simultaneous as well). Removes some of the strategy but worth it for taking a minute+ off of every draft.

This was Blizzard's and a minority of pros argument for why the new ban should be added to the middle. Bans at the beginning are simple statements, "Boo Tracer! Boo Malfurion!" whereas bans in the middle are more strategic and targeted e.g. "They picked Kael'Thas, Hanzo, and Stukov, so we should ban out some warriors and/or solo laners."
