We’re hoping she stays, not only because she’s adorable, but because our remaining cat is... well. This is Tonks. He was knocked around by a truck as a baby and has kitty anxiety and PTSD, and serious separation anxiety. We don’t let him into our bedroom because he fear-pees and so now he’s alone at night. Every day since our cat Fatty died he becomes clingy and insists that I need to cuddle with him by 2 pm sharp or else he cries, which is adorable but kind of worrisome and really annoying when I’m behind schedule on work. He’s huge and fluffy and a big dumb rear end in a top hat and we love him.

That's because she was raised in a happy home. Mine ALL think I should be petting and playing with them at all times, but I don't have enough hands to do so. Here is one of my red tabbies at my old house. He would speed down the hallway, through the kitchen, into the sunroom. then zoom up his cat tree and leap into the rafters, where he would howl for me to come see how impressive he was and gaze in awe at how much his tail resembled a cheeto when it was all puffed up.

Update: upon closer inspection, Pike is a tiny baby boy and my tradition of naming boy cats for female characters continues. Spouse and I woke up every two hours out of panic to make sure he was still alive, and he responded by shoving his face in his food and deciding he wanted to play at two in the morning. He just hissed at me for waking him up. Baby
