“We don’t really know where this goes — and I’m not sure we really care.”
I just checked my email and pretty much every inch of white space on my calendar this week has been filled up with either a battle rhythm meeting or planning conference.

For most of these training events my part is pretty easy. Class I and III. Call me if you have any questions.

But no I have to go to these things because what if the other staff sections have questions?

I'm in the same loving building, Jesus Christ.

I have way more important poo poo I can be spending my time on, if I had any time that is.

When do your board results come out?

This is some very Army poo poo right here:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crim...ocid=spartandhp

quote:

The 24-year-old U.S. Army sergeant was on overseas deployment in Seoul, a patrol supervisor with the 142nd Military Police Company. As the days crept on in January, another role was coming in fast: that of a dad. Garcia waited for his wife Marina to deliver to their child back in Arizona. But when the report came from home, it was bad. Garcia’s sister called to say the baby, a girl, had died in childbirth.

...

The shock and grief were quickly sidelined by more complex feelings the next month, when the soldier learned the truth. Not only was the baby alive — and a boy — but the focal point of a bizarre criminal investigation. The child also was not his.

“I was under the assumption the entire time that she was pregnant that I was the father,” he told the station. “When I found out I wasn’t, I was pretty upset, I was kind of in denial. I couldn’t believe what was going on.”

According to authorities, Marina Garcia lied about the baby’s death to her husband’s family to cover up infidelity. To hide the evidence, she allegedly concocted a plan to hand the newborn over to a couple in Texas, allegedly forging the necessary paperwork to keep the adoption below the legal radar.

This September or October for the board results

I’d wager late August because the board convenes early July.

When’s your ETS? Have you put in your REFRAD yet? I don’t know if it’s USASOC specific but the 6 month turn around is not holding, as I’ve had a few CPT get bumped a few months.

My board convened in April. I've already completed my initial commitment, plan was to leverage experience as an S4 into some kind of logistics job once I got out.

Or going to grad school, still looking into my options. Haven't submitted my REFRAD packet yet.

Why not apply to the school known as MCOE?

I just finished the whole Grad school application process last December so if you need any help/advice PM me and I can help you out. As far as logistics jobs, I have a good friend who’s a project manager over at Amazon if you’re looking to stay in the SeaTac area and need some advice.

The Army would be an easier sell if the majority of Army installations weren't located next to shitholes like Columbus, GA. Which leads me to....

I definitely plan on staying in the Seattle area. I'll probably have a bunch of questions for you or your friend by the end of summer/beginning of fall.

Being an S4 kind of sucks but the Army might have done me a favor. It could just be coincidence but the former S4's I know that have gotten out here have had the most success finding good paying jobs, followed by XO's. LT's with nothing but assistant staff positions and PL time have had the least luck.

The only part that really sucks about being the S4 is all the loving meetings I go to that don't do anything for me.

Like 95% of meetings are for the vanity and/or insecurities of the people who hold them in my experience. Let the hate flow, buddy!

My _ASSAULT ASSOCIATE_ from my platoon before I became a cripple loser had a 955 dollar monthly payment on his jacked up F-250 that he brought to Italy despite all instruction, that he now can't park anywhere, and is prohibited from leaving it on post.

A really good recce dude though and a great dude in the woods to do soldier poo poo with, but a total blithering retard out of combat gear.

I could gently caress a pornstar every two months and have money spare with that kinda disposable income lmao.

Like that's also a colossal waste of money but at least it'd be memorable. gently caress your truck lol.

Being lazy right now at a hostel in England, just stretching out and letting my feet take a break. The swiss girl who lives here is talking to our groups nerdy girl and playing some word game on the phone while some guy I've never seen is sitting on the steel steps above them, enjoying the sun while strumming away a bit of Hendrix. I'm just laying here and thinking to myself "gently caress you if you're still in"

I had a pretty competitive neighbor at one point mocking another neighbor for having to pay a $50 furniture delivery fee, talking poo poo about how if he had a truck, he wouldn't have to pay a delivery fee. His truck was north of $40,000, and the neighbor getting a delivery had a car worth about $8,000. Doesn't take a lot of math to figure he'd have to buy a LOT of deliveries to make up that difference.

It's weird. Trucks can be useful, but Truck Culture (tm) is super dumb.

I want a truck, but the kind of truck I'm looking for is the size of a 1990s Toyota Hilux, has a broken air conditioner, crank windows, a five speed manual transmission, and costs less than $2000. Because I'm going to use it to haul mulch and gravel or the occasional sofa, not to look cool.

I highly doubt I'll have as many as I do now.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that almost my entire schedule this week has been dictated down to me and almost none of it will help me do my job. There's only one meeting I can send my NCOIC to in my place and it's one of the ones that's actually useful.

We had a meeting about having too many meetings because so many people complained about them to the field grades. Nothing changed, we were basically told that there's nothing wrong and that all of these meetings are necessary.

There's not really any reason to push back on anything because they will never listen to us because we lack their experience and the must obviously know better than us what's important and what's not.

Pre-2004 Rangers and -05 Tacomas are absolute gold to their owners. Small, functional, basic trucks that can haul anything in the bed and are inexpensive. They never last more than an hour on Craigslist down here in AZ.

Get a $200 hitch and a $300 harbor freight trailer. Works good enough. It's not a real truck, but you also don't get truck gas mileage the other 99% of the time, and friends don't ask for help moving their poo poo.
