if memory serves, he was toying with gamergate around the time he got his diagnosis and after that it wasn't long before his disease started to consume his life we can't say for sure what he would have done if he didn't have cancer, maybe he would have been one of the few prominent Vidcon Opinion Havers to reject gamergaters and other reactionaries after being exposed to them, but statistically it was much more likely that he would have become another alt-right reactionary like notch and he was showing signs of leaning that way before his diagnosis

I honestly want to know more about Mr. Dapperton. He and his friends remind me of when forum RPers from Gaia or whatever would make flash/sprite videos about their characters. They just seem more interested in showing off their OCs and (for want of a better way to put it) coming up with fictional stories than even pretend to engage in politics.
