Maybe Dumoulin will try halfway up the last climb? Either way the entire peloton looks hosed.

Older, balder, fatter...
Yesterday's ride was a pretty impressive feat but I am still annoyed that Froome did it and not someone else. Oh well, at least the football world cup is on the same time as the tour this year so I have something else to watch.

Yeah, you're right, kind of. I read back up on it, and apparently he should (possibly) lose all results after the adverse finding if he gets a ban.

On the other hand, there's apparently some leeway in the rules, so

Petacchi and Ulissi, who were also suspended for Salbutamol (and a lot less IIRC) both received backdated suspensions and had all results during that period vacated. Froome should hopefully get a 2 year ban since his levels are indicative of a transfusion. but even a 6 month ban wipes out the Giro. Cycling is dead

It's looking increasingly likely that nothing will happen to Froome and that the testing protocol will have to be changed.

Basically salbutamol is not water soluble so it does not diffuse effectively/evenly into a tiny piss sample.

That's kinda hosed up. So he wins a race he should have been banned from, but because he has managed to push the process so far, he still gets to keep his win?.

Sounds like they're going for the testing process for salbutamol being unreliable more than a defence of why he had so much in his system. Either way it doesn't look like its being resolved soon.

I'm done watching the Grand Tours, Froome's hosed up my enjoyment of them for good now. It was better when he confined his horseshit riding to the Tour de France.

Also no amount of Salbutamol/Albuterol makes Froome do what he did on stage 19 anyway, so unless he fails some other drug test I'm beyond caring.
