Oh dang I thought you were exaggerating but Wikipedia confirms they made 130 episodes. Masters of the Universe also had 130 episodes and The Real Ghostbusters had 140. The original Transformers cartoon only had 98 episodes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1980s_American_animated_television_series

So, two seasons gave them 130 eps

The X-Wing books are all still good fun, the newest one is sort of weird because it takes place so much later in the EU and without having read a good chunk of the other books I was a bit lost. There is a bunch of stuff they would work with to do a Rouge/Wraith Squadron movie or even do something original just vaguely based on the concept, but it looks like they are too busy playing it safe and boring with the spinoffs. The Expanse is officially uncancelled and headed for Amazon.

I really wish The Expanse didn't have the alien mcguffin subplot. Everything else was great except for that

Looks like Solo could potentially have an opening weekend below $100 million, though the article I read suggests that it's likely a case of overcrowding more than anything else: there just isn't enough room for Infinity War, Deadpool 2 and Star Wars. That's been the story of the year so far, though. Studios have tried to go for a kind of blockbuster-a-week approach and it hasn't worked, because the biggest one crushes everything else (look at all those movies between February and April that Black Panther went over like a steamroller). Disney will probably write-off putting Star Wars in May again as a failed experiment and go back to making them a Christmas-only thing at this rate.

“A fun pulpy western” sounds like the Lord and Miller approach while “Star Wars EU poo poo” sounds like what Ron was brought in to do. At least from all the insider gossip from moons ago. Figures.

A Wraith Squadron adaptation that stays true to the spirit of the books would likely resemble The Dirty Dozen, with x-wings. Kelly's Heroes would also be acceptable. Adapting Rogue Squadron would largely depend on whether they keep Corran Horn as the protagonist or wisely switch to Wedge instead. Either way, Ysanne Isard has pretty good potential for a movie villain.

The parts that seem more Lord and Millar are sometimes obvious (but not quite), I'd be willing to be the way Lando speaks will be the best reveal for which scenes are which (but he's not in some of the scenes where it is hard to tell) I'm also 99% sure someone was supposed to be someone more important to the plot than they turned out to be but that all got cut out.

So Solo has the makings of a fun heist movie and even though it falls short it still isn't as bad as y'all made it sound. Glover is almost as suave and sexy as Billy Dee but he has some pretty big shoes to fill.

I snuck in to Solo after seeing a much better movie (Disobedience) today and it was soooooooooo boooooooooring, which is the one thing you'd think a Han Solo movie shouldn't be. Donald Glover is a pretty decent Lando, but that's kind of the best thing I can say about the movie. Alden Ehrenreich is like a low rent Dane DeHaan. He can't carry a movie to save his life. And I couldn't take loving Woody Harrelson seriously in a Star Wars movie whatsoever. I know they were probably trying to make Han and Lando coming aboard the Millennium Falcon this big moment that resonates with nerds and takes them back to their childhoods, but it failed on every level for me. It just felt like they were on a studio stage. Even the side characters weren't anywhere near as memorable as Rogue One's, to compare it to the other Star Wars side story. It was like a 2 and a half hour long fart that didn't even open with the Star Wars theme. It says "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...", but instead of doing the signature Star Wars opening text crawl, it just has multiple title cards in a row. I knew bad things were on the way right from the get go after seeing that.

Maybe spending almost 5 hours in a movie theater wasn't a great call?

Well yeah, but it's something we know what happened and the consequences, but didn't know anything about exactly how it happened. There's a reason before that, it was a huge cliche to have basically every EU character involved in stealing the Death Star plans. (IIRC it was in the first level of the first Dark Forces) And I feel they did it pretty well; emphasising how the Death Star was a huge, ambitious project, and it makes sense that it requires specialist technology and expertise, as well as a shitload of power. (and that they can underpower the shots to basically be a nuclear strike, which still emphasises the sheer terror of the Death Star) And it all ties in pretty well to the very beginning of ANH, cheesy line and creepy CGI Leia aside.

The mechanisms of the Empire and the Rebellion and the ways they influence and are influenced by the people in them and against them, and how that leads to various disparate groups to come together is the actual story of the film. It's the heist itself that's "about something that we already know happened."

So apparently there's a Daphne & Velma DTV live-action movie? It came out 5 days ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A40-vFz3tc0 quote:State-of-the-art robots and high-tech gadgets are common sights at Ridge Valley High, an innovative center of learning for some of the brightest minds in the country, including new transfer student, the bright & optimistic Daphne Blake (Sarah Jeffery) who is excited to finally go to school with her online bestie, the whip-smart & analytical Velma Dinkley (Sarah Gilman). But not everything is as innocent as it seems as mysterious disappearances begin to plague the top-performing students on campus. Once cheery and full of life, kids now appear in a “zombiefied” state – lifeless and shells of themselves. Can Daphne and Velma learn to work together and save the students or will they become the next victims? Get ready for thrills and laughs as we follow the first adventures of Mystery Inc.’s fierce female duo. Produced by Jennifer & Ashley Tisdale.
