At first I was thinking to say Chris got lost in the details of level design, but it's not even that. If you were working on level design for 3+ years I'd expect a drat fine Counter-Strike map or a well thought out layout like Overwatch. This is just a bunch of hallways with a theater at the end. There's more level design in babbys first rougelike than what this video has on display.

Chris has wasted everyone's time and money by having staff hand placing micro details for years on end. Wasted potential.

Never played Soviet, but Nuclear was pretty good. There was also LAPD Future Cop that was originally going to be Future Strike.

LAPD: Future Cop's multiplayer mode was a last minute addition called Precinct Assault. It is a one on one battle with each player have a mech(there is single player version with with an AI enemy gunship instead of a mech) and a base. The goal is to destroy the other player's base. You do that by sending AI units down lanes which are protected by towers and once they reach the core of the enemy base it is destroyed. Which if it sounds like a MOBA/DOTA-clone it is because it is the grandfather of the entire genre. A modder who played LAPD: Future Cop created a map Aeon of Strife that recreated Precinct Assault in StarCraft. DOTA was a recreation of Aeon of Strife in WarCraft 3 and the rest is history.

And that's how big new innovated games are made. Someone does something interesting which leads to someone else doing something interesting which leads to a billion dollar game series. What you don't do is give untold millions to some game developer from the 90's who promises the moon and expect anything to come from it.

The fact that CIG has once again proven their legendary ad hoc-iness by shifting attentions + asset development / sales towards Star Citizen: Ground Warfare! is just so lame. They are overextended as it is and deficient in nearly every basic space sim mechanic they pitched at kickoff.

The FPS AI preview in ATV looks dismal. 6 years and this is what it looks like. I guess they’re counting on players to keep each other occupied for a long, long time.

How are you going to rush out Squadron with crap FPS AI, Chris? Your said your game would be a lot better than this. How that’s going to work if your enemy combatants can’t even move when shot? Or hear and react when you shoot their friends? You’ve had six years, man. Jeez.

I've always considered mech suits part of the 'i'll believe it when I see it' category, because it seemed like unnecessary bloat that Chris said yes to five years ago. It's not shocking anymore that they follow through on dumb poo poo like this after the tank. The game is already unbalanceable with Arma/tactical FPS, permadeath, ship to ground combat, vehicle and tank combat. Why not throw in mech suits. At this point, I wouldn't even react to a submarine unveil at Citizen Con.

Well, Jerko Lando was a staple during the Community Management years...

Then there was Glibbo Lando kept things whacky and fun the day after the Sandi Monica bloodbath, while Thomas was pissed and Ben was still in a state of shock and grief...

I guess this was Huckster Lando in a way, only instead of schlepping ships, he was schlepping fictions of a happy-go-lucky day — 24 hours after two people got fired (allegedly in a screaming torrent of obscenities), one employee quit on the spot out of disgust, and yet another put in her two weeks notice as she bolted to Sony.

There have been other Landos, too. It makes the social media posturing seem pretty bogus but whatever. He’s highly adaptable I guess.

Bear with me please, I hole-hardedly agree but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peace of cake.
