It's amazing how they manage to use terminology that weasels out of acknowledging Russian role in the war in a story about actions by Russian military in the occupied territory.

They just need to keep claiming there's no proof and to wait for further investigations and all the useful idiots relaying Russian propaganda will gobble it up.

Currently they're claiming the videos are fakes, even though they were posted on social media weeks before MH17 was shot down, which means it's a bigger conspiracy than we could have possibly imagined. I was at the JIT press conference today, and have spent the hours since it doing loads of media interviews. At this point the JIT has pretty much confirmed everything we've written on MH17 was correct, short of IDing particular individuals, which is something they actually aren't allowed to do until the court cases. Tomorrow we've got our own very special Bellingcat press conference on our latest MH17 investigation. A lot of the journalists in the room today were disappointed the JIT didn't show anything really new, but we've got just that for our press conference tomorrow.

Having gone over most of the recent Russian Revolution histories that were published for the 100 year anniversary, every popular audience oriented one *has* to have an account of Rasputin's murder and the shooting and subsequent bayoneting of the Romanovs (Yuri Slezkine's version in House of Government is the best written and researched imo). And that's why the Baron's Cloak by William Sunderland and Imperial Apocalypse by Josh Sanborn (which mentions Nicholas II maybe once and not by name, barely mentions Lenin) are so good in comparison......
