Ah. Well, the music in solo was pretty good, so good job by whichever dude did it!

Williams has done most of the star wars soundtracks, and the times he doesn't usually has people at least riffing on some of his past work

Yeah, I noticed some good little homages to usual star wars... riffs? Notes? Whatever they are, but it didn't seen like they pulled everything straight from the old movies.

Yeah, but Solo's soundtrack felt fun; like, way less butt-classical, you could feel some swing, despite Powell obviously trying to riff on Williams' work at times (who, let's be honest, used to "crib" on Dvorak and Korngold, among others, a whole lot).

in never going to watch it so i will take your word for it

never really formed a strong opinion on Williams but i did like his star wars stuff. kinda surprised they have kept him for the new movies instead of just having new people give nods, though.

I believe in Beato.
Even when she's driving.
At night.
In a snowstorm.
John Williams is good, but he's scored most of Spielburg's movies as well as the first few Harry Potter films, which is why his music seems to be everywhere. I guess fewer people would be annoyed at his stuff if he hadn't overplayed his hand.

So to speak.

It is Cute Girls Doing Cute Things distilled down to almost perfection. It's like playing a 50-watt JCM800 Marshall head and the moment you play that G / Sol power chord (3rd Fret on the E-string and 5th fret on both the A and D strings), your body gets those  fancies. What I'm saying is that K-On is pretty dang good.

I first tried it at age like 13 and hated it because I thought it was nothing but "cute girls doing cute things", all that moeblob trash etc etc etc.
But man I'm so glad I gave it another, less Teen Angsty shot, because holy moly it's so good on so many levels. The girls became such a close-knit unit at the end of the show, some of the moments were a little heartbreaking and had me bawling like a baby for ages.
Supreme Sames with the feelings of separation anxiety from their hyper-awareness at how the time they can spend together is fizzling away by the day. Those girls loved each other so much. God!!

I didn't think the dub was all that bad, but it's just me. That's a really good show.
