It's not mod sassing and it's totally fine to post neat looking fan renders of an anticipated phone. Thanks for listening have a good day.

Have they announced the manufacturer (s) for the Pixel 3s yet?

Anyone know if it's worth picking up the Moto G6 to replace the Nexus 6 (before just picking up the P3XL when it releases)? Not sure if the N6 to Moto G6 is a good "upgrade".FAUXTON posted:Have they announced the manufacturer (s) for the Pixel 3s yet? For people looking at the Moto g6 on fi, I was able to do a buy one get one free x4 with a friend and took it over to Verizon. X4 is a smaller screen and resolution but superior CPU, camera, and water proofing. , same battery (and due to lower resolution the battery probably lasts longer) so depending on deals you might as well just get the x4 , especially the Android one version Without the BOGO deal it's 250 for the x4 vs 200 for the g6 so I dunno if it's worth the extra 50, but if you can get the x4 cheaper due to its age, well... mastershakeman fucked around with this message at 03:32 on May 31, 2018 |

Moto G6 reviews are trickling out https://m.androidcentral.com/moto-g6-review There's some positives here, but noticeable UI and camera lag out of the box on a Snapdragon 450 would make me pass on it. It's only going to get slower over time. Why in the world did they downgrade the processor from the G5? There's a lot of competition at $200 now and Moto isn't trying to win the category.

They sent the G6 out to die. I have more hope for their Android One phone which is unfortunately named Motorola One Power.

They just aren't releasing the Plus model in the US (at least not yet.) bull3964 fucked around with this message at 04:22 on May 31, 2018 |

If anyone has been wanting "iPhone X, but Chinese and cheaper" Xiaomi has good news for you. The Mi 8 has 3D face ID (they actually said "Face ID" in English) and it even has socialist animoji. Starts at $421, Snapdragon 845. the expensive version rules though

I'd be interested in seeing a teardown of that phone. Most think those internals are a fake visual facade or at they very least not the components they are saying they are. I mean, come on. They have Snapdragon branding on the 'SoC' with no thermal mitigation or RF shielding.

I'm using the Google At a Glance beta widget on my Galaxy S8+...isn't it supposed to do more than show the date and the weather? It's never shown me a calendar appointment. I'm using the Samsung calendar with Exchange, but even if I use Google calendar I still don't get anything.

It's supposed to yes, maybe check to make sure the launcher has permission to access your calendar?

It only looks a tad bigger than the S9 to me. In any case, I don't want a phone without top and bottom bezels - no notch that way, and there's space for stereo speakers.

Interesting. My S8 rebooted twice today already, once while Spotify was just playing, and now doing nothing at all. Still on the same CRAP release of Oreo, nothing installed additionally, except the typical app updates. Can I diagnose the reason somehow, or can I expect the hardware to be hosed for whatever reason? It never did that until today.

I think right now everyone is struggling with what the definition of 'edge to edge' is. Last year and the year before that Pixel 3 render would absolutely be called edge to edge. This year it seems the goalposts have changed and edge to edge now refers to iPhone X levels of bezel. The other article said that the p3 regular wouldn't be edge to edge and be similar to prior years. But I've seen numerous people call that render not "edge to edge" because of the room they left for the dual front facing speakers. Who knows at this point. We have long ago reached the point of diminishing returns.

The mystery Moto Power One phone has been spied in real life. https://www.phonearena.com/news/Motorola-One-Power-notch-leak_id105384 I'm kinda really interested in this because I've always loved Moto hardware, but the software was the issue. No one knows anything about internals yet or any other feature. I've been thinking about what might make me consider recommending this phone. I would say that SD710, wireless charging with a non-glass back, and a $500 price range could be really drat compelling with Android One in tow.

I've been impressed with the hardware of my Moto G5 especially for the price. Since the Nokia 6.1 in the USA is only the gimped version I think I'll wait for the One Power. Still a stupid name though.
