Soviet Power Supreme!

FileCoin raised $257 million and hasn't done poo poo since and is not used by anyone.

ICO investors are the dumbest people on the planet. Unless they're purposefully doing it as a lottery, where what the coin does is irrelevant (none of them will have profitable real world uses, ever). In that case, yes, some will be able to get lucky by scamming the other participants.

I mean poo poo, if I was a dying company like Monster and knew that idiots will throw money at me for absolutely nothing, I'd do it too. Why issue more stock which dilutes the shares your executive team holds and gives ownership and voting rights to other people? You can just ICO yet another payment revolutionizing shitcoin and have your "investors" get nothing at all for their money. It's glorious times right now, before this all gets regulated away.

1050 Ti vid card -

October 2016: $149

Now: $200+

gently caress you crypto. I need a new vid card now, chose that one based on power consumption and performance, then read reviews from almost 2 years ago saying it was under $150.

I should be paying, maybe, $120, for a card that was $150 2 years ago.

I pray to God somebody finds a generalized crack to common crypto hash algorithms, and just wrecks them all for fun.

I've thought about this and if there was some kind of way to create a virus that brings down the whole bitcoin network and destroys it I wouldn't hesitate one second to do it.

Bitcoin is immoral.

I think they're saying that for the hash algorithm behind Bitcoin to be broken all of modern cryptography would have to be breakable.

There is one major reason for Monster not to do it and that is this:

Woooooooo motherfuckers guess who just found a wild allcoiner "blockchain expert" wandering lost around Brisbane CBD? I had to help him find his blockchain way :kiddo:

this duder was off his loving rocker, telling me that blockchain is the next thing for everything, and there was no conceivable usecase that was not fixed by it.

Medical records, land records, everything all better by the blockchain! The Australian government does everything by blockchain! Proof of stake almost completely fixes the entire power problem associated with proof of work!

The most efficient method of database storage is on the blockchain, becuase you can never lose data or change it, and when you want to update or add more, you just make the chain longer and therefor it's better!

Run into an issue with people putting false information on the chain? Refuse to validate their work and simply fork the chain!

What a loving interesting 1000 metres that was.

That was my wild encounter with a chainbrain thank you for reading.

Yes, I admit I made some stupid young man investments that brought me some earnings, and probably screwed some poor soul who needed money, albeit not purposefully

I’ve since pulled everything i had in fiat out of the banking system and invested in crypto, to make up for my mistakes - we must look forward always !
