If CIG releases the game we can cause an ocean worth of salt and the world can see what The Dream actually is. If the game fails there will be an ocean worth of salt.

If Chris Roberts finds a funding source and manages to sell out then we will get some mediocre game in the next 2 years that loses whoever bought the rights a bunch of money. Backers will claim they were right all along and that the blame is 100% on the people that bought the game for ruining the genius vision of Chris Roberts and not delivering the dream. The dream was still real and they almost had it. There will be no lessons learned and none of them will make the connection that this is exactly what happened with FreeLancer. In the end the gamers and consumers will be blamed and the genre will be damaged from the point of view of investors and publishers as a huge project and investment failed.

History won't read as "Chubby, talentless hack creates world's biggest lie and scams hundreds of millions" it will read "Gamers just won't pay for a big budget Sci Fi space sim."

We now have direct confirmation from CIG that smaller ships will be:

- Invisible to radar, or maybe
- Have a smaller radar signature, or perhaps
- Need to be closer to show up on radar

But poo poo it's anyone's guess really because radar systems are not in the game, nor are they designed. But we also have confirmation that:

- Smaller ships give off smaller heat signatures, or maybe
- Smaller ships are more quiet

But nobody knows this either because there are no systems of any kind in the game whatsoever. But we do for sure know that:

- Smaller ships are harder to physically see

And so are loving capital ships in this clusterfuck of a broken model-viewer because all the cockpits are blocked with autism trinkets to draw the attentive gaze of spergs with the same cognitive defects Chris himself possesses, and there are a disturbing amount of them to be honest.

All that said, let's not forget that:

- There will be fresh salvage, that somehow smaller ships will have an advantage getting, because maybe...

I never really got the hate for the ouya. For the price, it was a fairly competent media player/emulator box, probably the best one available at the time. The "ecosystem" poo poo was always going to fail of course

I didn't buy one, but if I had I would probably have used it a few times

So in that spirit, I want to share thoughts about what's going to happen ITYOOL 2018:

1) Ben and Alexis are out: A Great Purge of staff has been calculated since two years ago, but I believe that Ben leaving SCAA, and the iffy reception of the Pioneer/Land sales, Ben has run out of time. Not even as an archivist. Ben has long since served his purpose. It will be announced "due to health reasons" that Ben will leave. Alexis will also "leave", in the sense of "we never wanted you". A severance package is given with a long NDA, probably 6 figures. They probably move back to Austin, where Ben can do more archiving of the WC material at UT Austin. I have bleaker visions of their 20 year future, it makes me sad a bit. I want to say nicer things, but Ben if you can read this, I heard enough.

2) SC inversely folds into SQ42: The big rumor is that SQ42 would be the thing to fold, but I think the opposite will happen. The promised mechanics of SC will instead be folded into the "episodic" campaign of SQ42. Mining, salvage, and land claiming will be parts of the SQ42 story, but only in the context of the story rather than any free will ability. Think Mass Effect: Andromeda.

There's less chance to get dispositioned doing that.

But poo poo it's anyone's guess really because radar systems are not in the game, nor are they designed. But we also have confirmation that:

- Smaller ships give off smaller heat signatures, or maybe
- Smaller ships are more quiet

- Smaller ships are harder to physically see

All that said, let's not forget that:

- There will be fresh salvage, that somehow smaller ships will have an advantage getting, because maybe...
