You have been a most worthy adversary, but in every game, there are winners and there are losers. And as you know, in this game, losers get robotizicized!
a lot of these legal arguments against self pardon lean on him being impeached (lol), public opinion mattering (their bosses will tell them if they protest on the clock they will be fired, and people wont't care enough anyway), and decorum/norms that have no legal strength

of course he can pardon himself and it doesn't practically matter. if you want to get a president out of office, here's how it's going to happen:

1. voted out through an election
2. term limited
3. death
4. removed by cabinet through 25th amendment vote
5. impeachment
6. constitutional amendment abolishing the executive (lol)
7. voluntary resignation

that's it

So I tried looking up articles on what would happen if politicians tried to Internet debate as an alternative to televised debate and found

TIME posted:

Suppose, for example, you think that the rich aren’t paying their fair share. That’s not the kind of thing you merely think. Chances are, you feel it; you feel it in your gut. What’s the likelihood of your being convinced otherwise by the detail that, in 2014, the top 1% of earners paid 45.7% of all federal income taxes while taking home only 17% of total income? From a strictly rational standpoint, that fact should be a conversation stopper. Checkmate. But it never is.

Why not?

Because people who think that the rich aren’t paying their “fair share” aren’t really hanging their opinion on a specific data point.

Well, for me, that statistic isn't a conversation stopper because the percentage of all federal income which the top 1% of earners should pay should rise with income inequality as the dependent statistic, so as not to let the rich become too powerful. Being exact about it would require some f(x) mathematical formula, and our own legal system abhors mathematical formulas which are more complicated than piecewise-linear so that the lawyers will be able to understand them without mathematicians' help. In a debate, I do not think a goalpost like in a scientific paper is always necessary to have, and you don't have to be an EPA environmentalist knowledgeable about what the exact level of lead should be in our water that accurately trades off the economic costs and the health effects to know something's wrong when it's poisoning people like in Flint, Michigan. In these cases, a description of the problem should suffice. The top 1% of earners are earning the largest share of our country's income since the 1920s, peaking just before the Great Depression.

It's also insane because they pay 47% while controlling, gosh, almost the entirety of the nation's wealth as generated by it's exploited labor, while also cheating on their taxes to the degree of billions of dollars if not more. So really they should be paying 110%
