It seems like everyone skipped straight over all of the Castlevania randomizers that have been coming out the last few years. A SOTN randomizer probably would've been more popular, but I still don't know if anyone has figured out how to mod that trainwreck.

I think it could be cool to see someone actually good at pinball run it.

I haven't watched your whole run because I'm still working on a casual first playthrough (I'm as bad at games as I am short on time to play them) but nice job! It's such a great game, I hope folks don't sleep on it or your SR :D

Dang, I enjoy speedrun marathons but all that discussion really drives me away from wanting to watch that one. I feel like marathons like RPGLB and GDQ walk a really tough line when it comes to chat and participant moderation. While I sometimes feel like they err a little too far on the side of caution, having a marathon where there's no moderation at all seems like a very poor choice indeed.

It's lame getting swept up in like a 10 minute chat timeout for using mild / self-censored language to try to make a joke, but it's worse having a marathon that accepts and even implicitly encourages bigotry.

GDQ is evolving right alongside Twitch in the "don't ever for any reason do anything even remotely close to possibly being in consideration for maybe being something that someone, somewhere, in one of the multiverses considers offensive". It is astounding what Twitch is up to these days in an attempt to almost completely sterilize the platform of any remotely interesting personalities.

If you want my Twitch name you can check all the logs you want in GDQ channels. You're gonna be really disappointed because I never watch or really even use chat on virtually any Twitch channel I watch much less hyperchat like you see at a big event. poo poo, there are people I've been following for years and years and I'm not sure I've even typed in their chat ever. I'm pretty sure I've never typed Trihard or ANELE in a chat ever or anything else you probably think I have.

Like I said, it's much like current Twitch, who freaks out over anything and everything, all you have to do is look at how GDQ handled Bonesaw to know they're terrified. Dumping MAGA fucktards out at the door is fine, it's sad you seem to draw some conclusion on me thinking GDQ clutches their pearls too tight as "man, I wish I could say friend of the family a lot in Twitch chat, also fag and/or oval office".

Let's go explorin' little dude!
Or you know, they handled Bonesaw just fine. Hell, he acknowledged he did wrong (wasn't prepared, repeatedly asked viewers to tweet to Air Canada during the run), he didn't go to the one GDQ he was barred from and then came for the other marathons when he had time for it; after all speedrunning isn't his life and he had school in Japan to deal with. There wasn't some conspiracy to silence him, there wasn't hand wringing going on, people on both sides handled it like adults and nothing was lost.

Yet year after year you get at least one dumb gently caress who decides that this year, this is where it all went down hill and GDQ's are no longer the 'cool' event it once was.

What personalities do you see are being silenced in *GDQs and I guess abroad in Twitch? Or is this your anecdotal 'well I don't see somebody I liked streaming anymore?' :thunk:

This is all post hoc. Everyone called it a bad decision when it happened and the ban was stupid. Walking it back now is hilarious.

No they didn't. Read back, most people thought the ban was pretty justified since the dude was up there acting drunk and telling a hundred thousand people to tweet at Air Canada and Owen Wilson.

The whole run is pretty cringey and lol!sorandom monkeycheese if you go back and watch it. Its just a dude with severe sleep deprivation who only barely keeps it under control.
