the comments sections of any post about the kneeling protests is always a gold mine of chuds red in the face with fury at something that they subsequently dismiss as a child's game of no importance gonna be lots saying they should do something in their communities instead of kneeling despite the entire thread being just that I hope there is a lock out lol

Wouldn’t it be more of a strike if the players initiate it?

That’s what I thought. So why would the owners start a lockout?

If they feel the players are taking too much revenue

# ? Jun 8, 2018 01:13 |

The owners will opt out of the cba to negotiate a new cba that gives themselves a bigger percentage of revenue

I really can't see them opting out this year, and probably next year, in the current climate. I don't think the players will be in any rush to start the season on time like in 2011

Just remember that the average nfl career is less than three years, and the current salary structure has incentived teams to sign even fewer veterans in favor of players on their rookie contracts. This makes the NFL union remarkably weak compared to the MLB and NBA. It would take a substantial number of players basically forgoing at least a third of their career for a strike to happen.

Seriously. Go on strike. The whole CBA is a loving joke. Let the league start a bunch of scab talent and let it bleed out... The NFL relays on Star Power players and when they don't have that leverage it hits them hard. Get hosed NFL. Do the right loving thing.

Unfortunately the number of quarterbacks that would go along with the strike are a lot smaller than the ones that won't. Running backs must hate the idea of a strike.
