I'm untouchable thanks to these pills.
I'm replaying Breath of the Wild in Master Mode finally. I was running around in the desert without any heat-dampening potions or armor and noticed STANDING IN THE SHADE works to lower your temperature. They seriously thought of everything in this game and little things that just make sense just WORK and it's so cool.

Yeah I really enjoyed Detroit but I answered no to that question. A story about oppressed minorities fighting for their rights doesn't resonate with me personally. A story about an indentured servant-turned-mother doing anything to protect her surrogate daughter doesn't resonate with me personally. A story about a cop walking the line between "just following orders" and doing what he feels right doesn't resonate with me personally. I'm none of those things, but I can still feel empathy for the characters in those stories and enjoy them.

That's basically the only way to finish the ice cube quest. Maybe you missed it the first go around.
But yeah, they thought of a lot of stuff.

Before I could get a good set of warm armor, a fire sword I had picked up from a chest was my go-to warming device.

Hah, I had a GameBoy Printer and made all the Links Awakening stickers - good times. I've got to figure that puts me in a minority of people who ever used that feature.

So, uh, not sure what cut content mod you’re using, but a lot of em use stuff that wasn’t just cut because time was short, but because that content really sucked. So if you’re in a stupid battle in Nar Shadaa, just cheat and get through it.

No you see these random people on the internet knew exactly what the cut content was and how to restore it exactly and they did it.

It couldn't possibly have been cut for any reason other than spite.

Actually I was trying to make fun of mod teams that release "balance patches" that makes the game "the way it's meant to be" but in reality are garbage.

I'm sure the cut content were it actually all there and not Frankensteind together after the fact by randoms online could be really good and fun. But I'm still not going to trust xXxSephirothxXx to know how to properly balance content.

Pretty much! My exposure to restored content mods is non-existent so I'm just assuming that's they're like all the balance mods that exist solely to make games shittier.

Did the devs work on the Kotor one? What makes it better than some guy in his basement just deciding that's how it goes now?

My bad f I sounded like an rear end in a top hat up there, I thought you were just being an rear end for no reason. Anyway, the short story is that there is a lot of content that actually is inside the game, but you can't play, and they're critical story bits. The original modders revealed a great deal of info on it, which can be seen in the LP I posted earlier

and the long story can be read in the Star Wars wiki. Despite being released a reasonable time ago, the entirety of the content was never fully restored to a completely playable state, as the original team who began the works disappeared - with all their tools - and all the other groups since then weren't as capable. None of them were part of the developing team but they did get some praise from Chris Avellone for trying to bring the full version to life(Even if his reputation is a bit shaken these days, it's still an official word).

The reason the game still gets brought up despite all that is that it's a very interesting take on the Jedi Mythos, while the first KOTOR was a straight up wRPG this one feels like a more cynical view of the history and the Force, but you're also accompanied by a side character that's an enigmatic chessmaster and also a unrepentant liar, so things are never as clear as they seem.

Ah, the Sith Lords Restoration Project by Team Gizka. I kept a pretty close eye on that because I really like The Sith Lords and wanted to be able to play the cut content, but of course it all ended in a mess of stupid nerd drama bullshit.

Basically, the guy in charge of the TSL Restoration Project did his best to alienate everyone he was working with for several years, then at some point an early beta got leaked and he got mad about that (understandably) so he ended up working on the mod alone for the next... year? Two years? There were many people wanting to help him out, but he refused because this was his mod and he didn't need any assistance. Meanwhile, the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod project had started, and they were making quick progress which made TSLRP look kinda bad. Anyway, it eventually turned out he never actually did any work on the mod at that point despite constant assurances that he'd release something soon, and then when called out by one of the remaining playtesters after a long period of radio silence he went "I have a girlfriend now unlike all you sad nerds caring about this video game, so I haven't had time to work on this thing" and took down all the completed work and tools soon after.

I'm absolutely not attacking the guy for daring to have a life outside Star Wars video game modding (can you imagine dealing with hardcore Star Wars nerds, modding nerds, and RPG grognards on a constant basis?), but maybe he could've handed the project over to someone else instead of nuking everything. At least we got TSLRCM out of all that, and it's pretty good even if it doesn't quite match the scope TSLRP promised.
