I disagree about the whole coded anti-semitism thing at least in as much as whatever may be there you have to squint really hard and that talking about how cabals of bankers are, in fact, ruining everything can have unfortunate implications down the line if not watched. much like the show’s unfortunate discourse around queer people (Gay Death is a literal thing judging by how Ikuno’s hair went white first, and then the nines...), this is an error of omission rather than intent. It’s a lot less clear of an error tho, and a reading that only exists after a really big stretch—it relies on implications of implications. I feel like the show sorta lost me here cuz it really didn't go far enough with any particular idea. It's a situation of not-quite-jupiter-bomb and not-quite-double-inazuma-kick-union, so it just feels incredibly watered down in it's ideas compared to literally anything else this animation team has done in the past. Especially with them REFERENCING THOSE THINGS so loving hard. Also they made the robo-waifu experience boring. someone on reddit was complaining that they sucked all the personality out of 02 ever since she realized hiro really was her darling. that her only action ever since was to say "i love u darling" past couple of eps have really driven that home. i miss the panty thief 02 at this point

Show is very bad. Started off dull and somehow got worse with each episode. Pretty drat impressive. Reminds me of Kantai Collection for being a boring show with ring wing propaganda undercurrent.

True Apus reveal aside, this is probably the low point of the entire series for me; poorly animated combat, REALLY forced drama(did we really need to have Hiro and Zero Two go through the "I can't be with you" "I'm gonna be with you forever" "No you can't" "yes I can" "well okay then" yet AGAIN?), weirdly unearned character beats(Nine Alpha)... I expected this episode to be a huge spectacle, but instead I got 10 minutes of Nana and Hachi waxing philosophical about the series's themes. I seriously am wondering why they came along because they certainly didn't seem to contribute anything to the battle and I thought they decided their role was to help babysit the kids on Earth.
