To be fair, that Movistar rider who is an utter nobody had an AAF from January 2017 and that was literally only resolved last week. drat, I knew he was looking good on the road but I didn´t expect this good. Although looking back at how easily WvA adapted to the road earlier this season I shouldn´t be surprised. Also I think that most people expected that he would swift to road more permanently after Tokio 2020, but these kind of results might make him change those plans.

As much as froomes rivals are all (unsurprisingly) saying he shouldn't race, I bet they know deep down whoever wins will always have the small footnote mentioning he wasn't there next to it Especially if they eventually let him off
