They played it live yesterday at Warped Tour in Denver and it loving slammed. I was surprised folks weren't going harder but I think everyone was just exhausted from being out in the sun all day by that point.

Can confirm it slammed.

Did you catch ETID's set? It ripped, per usual.

EDIT: I missed Harm's Way, so that sucked.

Hey this is Meatwad. I talked to my good old buddies from Boston –they're called Unearth– and I told them to write a song about friendship and getting together and having a good time with your friends. And this what they come up with. Very exclusionary track called “The Chosen”

ETID was crazy, my first time catching them ever actually. Long time overdue. Kublai Khan was a lot of fun too, and In Heart's Wake was really enjoyable. I'm also pissed I missed Harm's Way, they played way too early.

Hell yeah. That was a good first show to see them. I only stayed at Kublai Khan long enough to hear The Hammer then went to get water.

Do you happen to be talking about Jesse Smith? If so he's a super cool guy and my friend produced his new band's latest record. They're called Jesse Smith and the Holy Ghost and it's some really solid sludge n roll.

Yep, he's a solid guy. He's still pretty active in the local music scene and I've got a lot of mutual friends that have a lot of respect for him, although like I said I don't really know him personally. I actually just helped a couple of the guys from JSatHG out with a music video and some promo stuff for one of their other bands - coincidentally, they're super cool guys too (I'd post it but this is already getting pretty off-topic and their music is nowhere near -core).

I don't think this was posted here - second new track from The Agony Scene:

Reminds me a lot of bands like Himsa, Forever is Forgotten, Hamartia, Wings of Scarlet*, Knights of the Abyss and so on and so on. I never heard of or listened to Screams of Erida back in the day, but listening to it now and I know it would have been my poo poo. Unfortunately, hearing stuff this under-produced in this day and age is like getting a boner for a chick in a 70s Playboy.

* Speaking of which, their EP Before the Great Collapse isn't on Spotify and I went to listen to it again on YouTube and hooo boy is it a banger. Thanks for taking me on this trip back to the yesteryear of metalcore, Wamsutta.

What a day of releases. I had four on my radar, and they all turned out to be pretty dang good. No disappoint. Check any of these out that you might've been inclined to try:
  • .hopesfall. – Arbiter
  • Between the Buried and Me – Automata II
  • Chelsea Grin – Eternal Nightmare
  • Obscura – Diluvium

hahaha, we might've run into eachother in the pit, who knows. I wish Vein had gotten to play longer, but honestly seeing their vocalist tear rear end on stage with Code Orange was good enough for me.

Is BoS the band where everyone quit because the lead guitarist is a heroin addict, and their shows have been incredibly sloppy lately?

e: Google says no but it's definitely one of the bigger deathcore bands

That was The Faceless I think?

The Agony Scene's new album is floating around. It is very good, although I'd hardly call them metalcore anymore because it's basically a straight At The Gates-style melodeath album with some black metal influences.

That's Michael Keene of The Faceless, but you might be confusing that story with the one where fuckboi extraordinaire Jason Richardson got kicked out of Born of Osiris and then called them all pill heads before going on to get kicked out of Chelsea Grin next.

Acacia Strain and After the Burial just announced a tour, they're gonna be playing Continents and Rareform in their entirety. Two of my favorite albums, and I've always dreamed of seeing the song Rareform played live (the breakdown at the end is in my top 10). Fall cannot come fast enough, holy poo poo.

Saw that too and will probably end up there, but, truth be told, the real selling point will be the openers they bring.
