If it was mini usb I'd understand That reminds me that I was the only one of our group of friends with a link cable when pokemon first came out. That was lovely because people would steal it during lunch sometimes. I wish you could have traded with the IR blaster

im pooping! posted:im seconding ps4 controller battery life to be bullshit as well Thirding. I have a new one and it lasts like, 8 hours maybe? Many micro usb cables don’t fit in it cause of the design of the controller itself and I lost the one that came with it, so I have to use some crappy one that falls out constantly.

Yeah I won't contest the battery life is lovely. I have three two old designs and one newer model I bought last black Friday. The newest one still only gets 10 hours tops. I've never had any trouble getting a micro USB to fit though. Dualshock 3s laster so much longer.

Do you guys not plug your controllers in when you're done?? It's definitely not longer than 8 hours but how is that not enough for y'all? Calling that "bullshit" seems a bit silly but I also get the appeal of hard wired no frills controllers so Not that I'm one to speak, my current DS4 is strictly for steam so it's Always Plugged In

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within has some neat mechanical improvements on Sands of Time, some good level design and a plot that leans into batshit time fuckery but holy poo poo the visual style and music are even more loving awful than I remembered. lovely nu-metal, "edgy" dialog, embarrassing female character designs, and an arsehole for a main character strip the game of a lot of the charm that the previous one had.

Warrior Within was pretty edgy but IIRC it was actually the opposite, He got the lovely tribal tattoos after they were put on the character because he liked them that much. It's kinda odd how despite having the literal dark prince, The two thrones is way less grimdark than WW.

Yeah, that was extremely dumb. One of the reasons why Sands of Time was received so well to begin with was that it managed to create very nice upbeat fantastical setting and flair. I still fondly remember some parts of it like 15 years later now (gently caress I'm getting old) because they felt like they could have come straight out of 1001 Nights. And then Warrior Within came along, with an intro like this (mildly ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsWqTrbBuao&t=76s, and you can downright hear some douche going "This ain't your daddy's Prince of Persia!" At least Two Thrones managed to go back to being good afterwards.

I am playing The Last of Us on Grounded mode which is one of those insanely difficult modes that actively wages war on the player. It's great. However I spent ages sneaking through this one relatively short area that's packed with enemies as there are a few pick ups that are practically indispensable on Grounded as items are so rare. It took 10 or so attempts to get it perfect and I finally did it last night. Woke up today to start playing and pretty quickly realised based on item counts that all the items I picked up in the previous area were gone. I'd recorded the play session so went back and looked and I definitely collected them all on my succesful play through so gently caress me I guess.

I get that plot and story is a very, very distant consideration in Street Fighter, but the intros and endings in USFIV Arcade mode are complete garbage. I'm not expecting Shakespeare but ffs put even a tiny bit of effort in Capcom.

Detroit seems to have now defaulted to “save” instead of “don’t save” when going to chapter select. That’s not very nice of them to change that.

Oldstench posted:What does this mean? What happens if you save on chapter select? Blanks out all future progress so you have to do it again. So like if passed all 12 (or whatever) chapters of the game and you accidentally hit “save progress”on chapter 6/12, the game will wipe anything past chapter 6 so you’ll have to do 7-12 all again. It doesn’t gently caress w collectibles but it fucks with getting easy trophies. E:it actually is a really good thing for trophies if you want it it to save cause the game has multiple endings and being able to start at chapter x instead of the beginning is great, but it’s BS that it’s now the default option. Most people I assume want to replay a chapter without it wiping out future chapters. Thin Privilege has a new favorite as of 17:22 on Jul 6, 2018 |

Ok, gently caress you Killzone: Shadow Fall. I gave you another chance, hoping a break would have helped me figure out what to do and where to go on your second level, but nope! I was still stuck wandering lost through pitch black corridors in an unlit space station because I have no map of any kind, the 'show objective markers' option just puts the dot right on the final endpoint with no clue how to get there, and you didn't give me a goddamn flashlight. I'm supposed to be some super spec ops, high speed lo drag, badass, but apparently they don't give them loving flashlights!

I'm finally getting the hang of Battle Brothers combat system but the thing dragging the game down for me is you can't look at the world map (which is randomly generated) when deciding on a contract. You can't even say 'Let me get back to you' to check the map, you have to accept the contract or turn it down which causes it to disappear. So you might take a contract that ends up being an escort mission across the entire map of the world when you wanted to just stab some Brigands next door. What doesn't help is that towns/cities don't always have contracts, so if you turn down all the missions in a settlement you gotta travel to next one.

Tried to get into the Witcher series- hated the controls in one, so gave up on it. My friend was like "just skip to two you won't miss much and the controls are way better!" So I did. The controls are... just as awful, tbh. I'll just resign myself to watching LPs.

Even if you hate the combat, witcher 3 is worth turning the difficulty down to easy and just cruising through it so you can experience the story/writing/characters/setting, since witcher 3 is the first game in the series where that stuff is good enough to carry it on their own
