Comments say it is a gray Jay and that they have very few predators so tend to be friendly with humans. Speaking of, the birds around my apartment have figured out that sometimes the cats I feed do not finish their food. A dove of some kind was doing the flying by and aborting trip at the last minute thing while I was outside smoking. The blue jays used to do the same thing when checking for cat food at my old place, so I went inside, to watch it cautiously sneak up to eat all the remaining food, from the window on the stair Lansing . Even though that window is pretty far too the side of the porch the food is on, it still spotted me watching it and kept an eye on me. Every time it looked up at me, it's head would puff up a bit. I couldn't get a video because of the angle of the window. Also, I think the blue Jay parent with the demanding fledgling came by to see if I had put out any food while I was outside smoking yesterday. Bored has a new favorite as of 19:08 on Jul 6, 2018 |

Do cats and dogs just really like sleeping near their peoples' smells, no matter how rank? If I'm changing out of exercise clothes my cats will almost fight each other for who gets to nap on my sweaty shorts.

Dog books often recommend not showering for a weekend then rubbing a stuffed toy on your gross torso, then giving that to your puppy to help with separation anxiety.

I think it's the same reason cats rub their faces on your clothes. That's my unscientific theory at least. "All our smells mix together so everyone knows we are family." I have no clue why a cat I had several years back loved rolling on guests' purses, though. He also had a thing for stinky shoes, regardless of who they belonged to.
