idk how after obama, syriza, pt in brazil, and repeated instances of centre left parties getting into power promising change and then working with elites to implement neoliberalism that people still can't see the writing on the wall

i think the fundamental difference between the dems and amlo/morena is that the dems have been a party in and out of power for the last two centuries, while the left in Mexico has been powerless since Cardenas, which i think gives them the potential to be more radical and less institutional. also amlo got such a mandate he can do whatever he wants. hes more likely to be a Lula than a Chavez imo, but thats still vastly better than another PRI or PAN shithead. comparing him to obama is dumb

Good tip, learn from the man who is being put in jail. Purge the right and centre when you have the chance because if you don't then they'll eventually purge you.

given that trump seems to wander from wanting to coup a different country every week this is probably the best time in american history to be a left-wing leader in south america because he's going to forget about you eventually.

the same probably goes worldwide tbh, Trump is gonna be the last American president to preside over American hegemony, he's managed to single-handedly speed up the decline process irreversibly.

it'll be more obvious following the tech bubble crash, which leaves a window of opportunity, where there is a global power vacuum, allowing regional powers to assert themselves again.

It helps that Trump's entire government is more concerned with grifting as hard as humanly possible instead of actually implementing anything beyond baby jails to try to fire up the einsatzchudden

Anyone have info on the current prosecutor's office drama?

From my understanding, a bunch of US based NGOs have been pushing for an "independent" judicial office, but AMLO rejected it because he's not a dumbass who would give away his power.

Am I missing something?
