I do quite like the idea of a moderate party overseeing 20 years of peaceful expansion and wealth but then immediately eating poo poo because it oversaw a victory over the main national rival but didn't gain as much as people wanted. It's the sort of thing historians will look back at and be like "actually the moderates were good and here's why: ... ". So Royalists, is what I'm saying. The fact that Al Andalus is ruled by a dynasty founded by a war hero and now has another war hero general means that people are probably really pro-military at the moment.

African colonies would be and all, but if we end the game looking like 1900 Germany—a strong industrial economy, high diplomatic standing, and a unified homeland, but not much in Africa—I’d be fine with that. Therefore I vote Royalists because I think that if we rush Army tech for the next couple years we can kick Morocco off the peninsula. The danger with Imperialists would be that we’d spend a decade focusing on boats and Morocco would end up making ground in terms of their armies. Yeah on top of pretty borders and my precious, precious straits (#SeizeTheStraits), it also just narratively makes sense that we'd be high as poo poo on nationalism after our army stomped our most hated enemies into the dirt and got fuckall for our troubles, and had our royal family snubbed. The military and public would absolutely want to push our advantage, and give the French a taste of being taken into a war THEY'RE going to get fuckall out of. By contrast I don't see the Liberals really having any kind of hype going for them, beyond it just being the Springtime.

the Imperialists would be a better choice since navy techs, unlike army techs, cannot be countered by being clever. A few iron clads will destroy our entire fleet without any losses, and being able to prevent morocco from sending reinforcements anywhere would secure our primacy in the region. plus the commerce techs straight up give you more tax dollas.

Bavaria just teamed up with two nations that have barely been mentioned in 20 updates. One of these is a better pal. Plus we did all that work during the conference to get France to like us! Are the Majlis really so stupid as to throw that away at the drop of a hat? The SGF would've done the same.

This vote is a tough one, especially as someone who doesn't understand V2 very well. Not sure how bad laissez faire is and if it's worth the trade off of having African possessions.
