The main difference is that both De Leon and Feinstein are on the ballot (and the only ones on the ballot) because they were #1 and #2 in the jungle primary back in June, this is about the party officially endorses in voter guides. During the primary, neither met the requirement for the official endorsement, though De Leon was pretty close. And since she got nearly 4X the number of votes as De Leon, I'd be shocked if this really effects the outcome. Still gonna volunteer for De Leon anyways, CA deserves to have atleast a halfway decent progressive Senator

People keep bringing up the Bras Eye comparison, but in Brass Eye the guests at least supported fake issues that were in some way positive (protect kids from vomiting up their own pelvis), here the American Congress outright promotes kids murdering people and vice versa.

Nothing fills me with dread like Biden making it through the primary. Either we get four more years of Trump on top of a Republican Senate as he destroys the down ticket like a Hillary 2.0 or he wins with a Democratic congress and does nothing except cut taxes for corporations and maintains all of Trump's policies in the spirit of bipartisanship and "coming together as Americans" leading to a nazi but this time smart enough to make jokes with and befriend our feckless media. The other centrists are pretty bad but I think they can at least read the room enough to know that they have to give some level of hand outs to the left when everyone is super pissed. Biden is so ideologically conservative he'd have no problem burning the country to the ground if it made his friends more money while telling everyone saying mean things about the rich to shut up. Hopefully it's too late for him to ride Obama's coattails.

Lesson being that LBJ was a beast and bowing to seniority is a mug's game.

I don't really like the prospect of a situation where Warren and Sanders split the vote on the left. While a similar thing might happen with the other candidates, I feel like the liberal-aligned media may put more effort towards designating a top choice, even if it's not the total cleared field Hillary got. Biden is worst case scenario. Would be even worse than a Clinton presidency, probably. Fortunately I don't live in much of a swing state, so I won't feel any pressure to vote for him if it comes to that. He concerns me, though; he has a bizarrely positive reputation among boomers from what I've seen.

Vote splitting is an issue but also crashing and burning is an issue. One gaffe or even unforced bad media day can kill a politician's chance in an election, it's probably better in the end to have a couple people representing your views going into a primary like this.

Last I heard about Biden is that he's a terrible campaigner, possibly much like Hillary Clinton having never actually won a competitive election in his life. He was basically space-filler for Obama.

Biden is such a creep in public there's no way he doesn't have harassment skeletons in his closet, it's just a matter of them hopefully tumbling out before the primaries begin.
