FB and other social media platforms constantly suppress content which isn't in and of itself illegal, and seems to mostly depend on what kind of rabble-rouser you are. It's not illegal to yell slurs at everyone you pass on the street either but that will still earn you a confrontation with the police who might even escort you elsewhere or worse. Also worth noting is that all the social media platforms treat the US as the reference for what should and shouldn't be allowed, regardless of who's on it and where they are.

Twitter flags nazi posts internally (and in their json feed) so they won't show up in France & Germany, so they clearly have some way of identifying them, they just don't want them entirely gone because that would be bad for engagement & ad numbers.
