I smiled when I read this. No, that's a lie ........ I laughed out loud. Seriously though, if all that water causes a quake that ruptures the Three Gorges dam, would this possibly be the biggest chabudou ever? Or is there even better examples of superlative Chinese Engineering out there? Past or present, i don't care. I know when they were building it there was all sorts of complaints and concerns about it, but it seemed a lot of hand waving and hurt feelings and ignoring the haters (and cracking skulls and forced migrations) made all those problems go away. 'till now.

All they're doing is finding coherent-enough sounding arguments to justify their belief that race determines behavior. As long as the argument backs up this belief they'll use it, which is why it's so irrational and inconsistent.

Two fun fact I discovered when teaching geology here: A) Surveys of fault lines to avoid, you know, building on top of an active fault have not been done in most earthquake zones. B) Even if they had been done, geological maps are state secrets and it's illegal to access one.

The Chinese man was using his right named justifiable defense. So we have to admit that that Pakistani “student” deserved it. But the problem is that the Chinese authority always tries to flatter foreigners, and Mainland China is not yet a constitutional region. The only thing we can do now is to pray for the Chinese motorist. Hope the court or the judge won’t persecute him." The Chinese guy was obviously engaging in self-defence . . . by leaving the scene entirely, then returning with a knife. Blistex fucked around with this message at 20:37 on Jul 15, 2018 |
