Ugh, I hoped the A2 highway in Poland, which the Chinese completely and utterly hosed up and abandoned half finished would be enough to scare most European countries to not touch that loving poisoned chalice. Also part of the story is, that after COVEC abandoned the project, the Polish government went to Bank of China and China EXIM Bank to get them to repay their guarantee which they were required as per the contract. Both BoC and CEXIM told them to get hosed and didn't pay what they owed. gently caress Chinese infrastructure so much.

Typical white liberals who think poor countries don't deserve infrastructure. White people don't build anything anymore, now it's China's turn to show the world. China will help poor countries develop as the west decays and this makes western liberals mad. Sure the highway is absolutely useless and now mothers don't get their critical support, but did you know the US did a bad thing too once? Did you know how many people the USA killed in Iraq and Afganistan? Do you know how hard it is to be a hapa in the US and find a girlfriend? Think about those things the next time your sexpat white liberal brain says financially crippling highways to nowhere foisted on poor countries by China are a bad idea.
