I don't understand how anyone expects to support and create globalized information sharing, globalized entertainment culture, globalized economic entanglement, globalized military alliances, and globalized political institutions without also accepting that it may create an infinite number of reasons for global actors to try and influence the local politics of the nation that tries to put itself as the multicultural global center of entertainment culture, information, trade, warfare, and politics. If you want Russia not to interfere with American elections, the very first thing you can do that is totally under your power is to not make the result of American elections so god drat important to Russian interests. To receive DNC funding you must agree to spend a certain % of your campaign budget on things like consulting and tv ads
