You are way overexaggerating it. There's a consistent syntax. It isn't accurate to any historical version of English but it is internally consistent and easy to parse if you are a native speaker, not random.

If I could turn off specific VAs I would turn H'aanit's off. But only one out of eight characters with bad lines is good enough for me to deal with it. ninja e: to clarify, the voice actor is fine, I just hate the writing for her.

Im still in the middle of the Chapter 1s (two characters left) and noticed something strange about leveling. Cyrus is my main character, Olberic was my 3rd. Somehow, Olberic has outleveled Cyrus by about half a level - he hit 18 before Cyrus, and by the time Cyrus hit 18, Olberic was halfway to 19. I think I may have had one fight finished with Cyrus dead, but could this one fight have made such a difference? I also could have sworn Cyrus got XP/JP for it even though he was dead, but I could be wrong about that.

I started the game last night. After much agony, I decided to start off as Alfyn. I knocked out his first chapter, and I am now in the middle of Therion's chapter 1. I was not expecting to be drawn into the game like this. Very excited to see where it goes!

I really can't get into Cyrus's VA. He just sounds like he's trying way too hard to sound like The Smart Guy to me. His VA is the reason I picked Alfyn to start with instead, really. I also don't like Therion's VA much. He's really nasally and leans on the Always Sound Sardonic button too hard. Everyone else is good, though.

I do like Therion's voice actor. But I think it's neat how he was one of the minds behind the Brawl taunts, and the other part of the pair voices Cordelia Ravus.

Therion's battle voice always sounds to me like he's been shoved into the fight and he's awkwardly laughing at the enemies to diffuse the situation. That might say more about me than the performance, though.

I don't mind the voice acting but a lot of it sounds like it is someone clicking play on a .wav file as each box pops up. I guess the days of the PSX FFs have me trained to power read the dialogue.

Also I just finished my first Chapter 2 and it was easier than I expected, especially with H'aanit still at level 19. But since everyone else was at 25-26, it was probably made up for with that.
