”Flying Train” As far as I am concerned, this is an evolution of the XC-120 packplane and I am therefore 100% in favor.

Hermsgervørden posted:”Flying Train” It sounds to me like an "ideas" company looking for a buyer. E.g. quote:"While Akka’s not banking on convincing a plane maker to necessarily build the entire “Link & Fly” concept, it’s betting on the design to be an attention grabber and a showcase, parts of which are likely to end up in customers’ commercial aircrafts down the line."

That sounds like a terrorist haven. You can attach a bomb anywhere in the city, and it will be transported to the airplane for you.

Hermsgervørden posted:”Flying Train” quote:With Akka’s futuristic concept, passengers would board a train-like tube at a neighborhood station and have their retinas scanned for security during the ride to the airport. Wings would then be attached to the pod for take-off. The company has showcased the idea in a 3D mock-up video, gathering interest from potential customers in Asia, Ricci said, without naming any company. Some Dahir Insaat poo poo. My local airport (Miami) has more daily flights than every train system in the metro area has train runs, and I suspect everywhere in the US with passenger rail infrastructure is like this.

Seattle folks, Brian Shul will be giving his lecture August 3rd at the Museum of Flight at the same time the Blue Angels will be parked in the adjacent Boeing lot, and a PBY, Skyraider, Growler, and Hawkeye will split the Museum's parking lot that weekend. Should be a fun time

Possibly in a clever trick to distract him, Donald Trump is redecorating AF1. Apparently the colors are too weak and female

Good for him, he made it all the way back. Although that does not look like the usual landing approach. Not all gliders have been as lucky, some have had to choose the nearby lakes as their landing spot.
