IIRC there were a few injuries in a Aussie rules footy stadium where the boundary of the stadium was concrete barriers at ankle height. You'd think it wouldn't be so much a problem since said stadiums are huge (repurposed cricket pitches) but Australian football is basically running back and forth over the field all the time.
