LOL the FBI just released a bunch of heavily redacted documents due to the NYT Freedom of Information requests on the wiretaps and documents related to Carter Page.

For Nunes, it was a classic case of telling a lie to cover up a lie, to cover up more lies, then hope the end proof he was lying about never saw the light of day.

The comedy is that if he just kept his yapper shut, the FBI wouldn't have had to release that FISA document to the FOIA request. The judge only allowed the NYT to win that case and get the information because of Nunes (and Schiff) talking about it too much. The FBI can't really argue THIS IS SO SECRET THAT IT WILL DAMAGE NATIONAL SECURITY IF IT'S OUT when those two keep talking about it on TV.

Now that the lies have been trashed, it's time for a shiny object, so expect even more NFL tweets and Nunes bullshitting about Rosenstein.

Chill out a bit, the United States currently has two governments. One is the "deep statey" people running poo poo like normal, enforcing sanctions and poo poo on Russia and refusing to even be close to friendly to Putin. The other government is Trump yammering his mouth off, saying the opposite.

Be scared when those two governments merge. We're not there yet and the gap between the two might even be increasing!

I'm not missing a drat thing. If you forget your kid is in the car in that situation, it brings the idea that you're a good parent into question. If you remember in time, maybe you're ok. If you don't and your kid dies or strangers have to save him, you're a bad parent. Just because you didn't mean to kill your kid doesn't mean it's ok.

Are you actually making the case that these people are good parents because "poo poo happens?"

I read a great book called "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Child Soldier" and lemme tell you, your 2 year old son will make an excellent sergeant in the military. Do you have any idea how hard they are to hit? They are absolutely tiny targets, they're very impressionable, and they can climb trees and wriggle into tight spots you'd never expect.

Those kids are hardcore dude. First they'd scout out a village, then form a semi-circle kill zone deeper in the forest. They'd take a few pot shots at the whoever was defending the village and wait for them to rush out then annihilate the defenders. Go ahead and try to hit a 5-year-old beanpole standing sideways who survives on a diet of jungle fruit and brown-brown.

Afterwards they'd ransack the village, kill all the civilians, and play soccer balls with their heads. Kids are inventive like that.

He's pointing out the way we collect, process, track and then use information is extremely flawed is all. So while it is understandable in a certain sense in that new parents trying to track everything they need to do with a limited amount of sleep and under a lot of stress/pressure may forget the one thing they shouldn't, it doesn't excuse them.

Since we’re talking about EZ-bake babies now is a good time to remember the TCC poster who left his own dumb rear end in a hot car and went to the great big burnt spoon in the sky, then his wife asked how to commit insurance fraud/get high off the drugs that killed said TCC poster.

I find that hot car death story infinitely more entertaining than ones about babies. My sister works as an administrator at a school that killed a special needs student by leaving him on the bus. The bus driver is claiming there was no way she could be expected to inspect for students before exiting the bus because she’s literally too fat to get back there but c’mon man, it’s the short bus. And you knew you had a disabled kid.

Whole goddamn thing is horrible and police have tried to pin poo poo on my sister saying she disturbed a crime scene when she went in the bus and got the kid out and started CPR on him. But the kid was dead as hell. My sister leaves this job as soon as the trial for the driver is over and it couldn’t come sooner. I really feel bad for her, she feels personally responsible because guilt is a motherfucker but she played no role in this kids death, and was the only person to attempt life saving actions once the mistake had been discovered. She’s probably gonna lose her rear end in civil court for this somehow.

I loving hate hot car baby accidents except for TCC guy. His is a story that will never get old.

It seems like it would be relatively simple to detect whether the latch system is in use through some sort impedence or pressure sensor on the latch points. From there a weight sensor could be used to detect whether a child was in the seat and and whether they are removed.

I remember one time when my kids were like 6 I totally forgot that they were in the car and made it all the way to work with them. As I shut down the car I looked up at the mirror and saw their faces and was all "fuuuuuck" because I was supposed to have dropped them at the CDC.

This was at Luke, so at least I didn't go into work and come back to broiled twins at lunch time.

Kinda comes off that way. The post I quoted specifically takes issue with me saying they're bad parents, and the reason is that "brains forget things." No poo poo. What I'm saying is that intent isn't necessary, and the lack of intent is not an excuse. "Sometimes I just fall asleep while driving" isn't going to get me out of prison after driving through a bus stop.
