I remember playing this on the 360 all the time in 2012 and remembering how empty and dissapointing the plot and setting were despite being more lively than fallout 3. The Curse of Bethesda strikes again! ![]()

Just binged this over the last few days. Hooo boy, what a ride so far. The cannibal bit and Bad End for Goodsprings initially put me off, but I'm glad I kept reading. Sun has grown in some ways as character, and I'm thoroughly enjoying your writing, ApeHawk. Also tempted to replay NV, but god, I'm not sure I can deal with its bugginess.

This is like across 3 different devices across 2 physical locations so Some of the earlier posts have some issues loading all the pictures while they are in-line on the forums. Once Ape moved their posts to the off site host, they tended to all load (but only in Chrome for me)

Even with the off-site posting I'm still having to reload the page quite a lot to make every picture load. Might just be my computer/Firefox though.

The Fister Sisters ride again. Hopefully they can together find dresses that do not smell like death before they killed their owners.

The "real" reason is that companions won't wear stuff that doesn't have a DT better than their default clothes, right?
|

Well that was a thing I just watched.

I would not have thought of posting that if this LP didn't go there. It was destined to be.

And then the Curse of New Vegas struck and I felt the need to restart in favor of roleplaying Spiderman villain Hammerhead. The natural consequence of having your head shattered in your origin story I don't know if it's possible to actually side with the Omertas, but he'll certainly be giving it a go
|

|
I'm pretty sure you can side with literally anyone in the main game. I mean, you can even ally with the Vault 3 fiends, which I was not aware of until this LP.

Crowded blackjack tables, but the game acts like you're the only one playing. Modelling a few grumpy NPCs managing their own hands would be more complicated, especially as far as the luck-stat mechanics go, but it would make things more realistic. I was talked into trying card-counting IRL at one point. We didn't do so hot. The dealers in the cheap casinos in Shreveport basically took pity on us and gave us some coaching. The gambling addicts playing three hands at once didn't give a gently caress.

Thanks for showing off some of the Gun Runners' Arsenal stuff. Even if it's just got a unique model. Do the ones with VATS special attacks do anything different when you spring them outside of VATS, or do you need a pipboy to unleash this forbidden power?
|
![]() |
|
No, they do the same thing, just without the 200% attack bonus VATS gives Melee and Unarmed attacks. You activate them via Power Attacks (holding down the attack button instead of mashing it). Nuka Breaker's attack is literally just a renamed Mauler animation without the damage loss and more AP.

It's been years since I played NV, but I still remember I could get by with about 6 luck or so with the right clothes. I know it involved the right sunglasses and a set of leopard-print pajamas. I forget if there's a lucky hat, though.

One neat little touch is that Doc Mitchell will comment on your most lopsided stat after patching you up, and if you dump Int entirely, he will suggest that you did, in fact, just suffer a traumatic brain injury.

I can see them all on Chrome just fine, but it takes a refresh or two. Also, that's where you find Oh, Baby! I guess I must have been to Jacobstown pretty early on my first playthrough, but I somehow missed out on recruiting Lily. That thing was responsible for a lot of shattered ribs and caved-in skulls on my first playthrough. Excited to see some adventures with grandma. For some reason, I've never really used her. I'm trying to use all the companions on my current playthrough, but I kind of put the game down after getting tired of the HP bags in OWB and getting my New Vegas fix from this thread.

Contreras, for some reason, can’t be reasoned with if Keller has the supplies, no matter what, at least in my file. So I had to redo everything, meaning I have a permanent 10 pounds in my inventory I can’t get rid of anymore. But having another merchant with a bunch of caps and a discount with a great supply is worth it. Just use the console, it must be something like: "player.removeitem f1865 1"

cugel posted:Just use the console, it must be something like: "player.removeitem f1865 1" Look, there're certain things I'm willing to cheat for LP purposes (and a ton of caps), but I have a feeling removing a quest item from my inventory will rip one of the many tears in the Gamebryo engine and somehow corrupt my saves. So I'll live with this sin.

If it's any consolation, quest items don't actually count towards your total encumbrance, even if they have a listed weight.

Unless the Sawyer mod decided that they should. Got no idea myself as I've never played this on PC.
