On the right side of the space station there are several people in booths. One of them gives you quests which often give nanites when you complete them. You can have more then one going at the same time.

The workstations appear to be a couple units tall, so if you find yourself unable to place it on a wooden platform, make sure there's no ceiling or that it's at least a couple units up.

Some of the tips and stuff mentioned recently reminded me that the Upload All Discoveries button seems to only work for the planets or only sorta works, and you have to go through and manually upload all the plants, animals, and outposts (not individually, just hit their tab button, but still tedious). I did this for all my planets, some had like half the animals uploaded, or wouldn't have the second page done, and ended up with like 2000 extra nanites.

Oh nice map. Yeah I thought I had talked to that guy, but I had JUST started so maybe didn't have any rep at all. Or maybe I just talked to the guild rep and ran away in shame when he didn't wanna speak. Then I farmed eggs for like an hour.

Somehow I missed the fact that you can build all base components on a freighter. For some reason I thought freighters had special components or something. Does anybody know if you can do the whole base building questline from your freighter once it is started? I just upgraded to an A Class Star Destroyer freighter (at the cost of whatever is in my old freighter inventory). Now I want to live out of it and explore the galaxy with a fleet of broken frigates and build giant farms inside the freighter. If they would only put a teleporter in the freighter....

I assume you can't put a teleporter in the freighter because getting a new one would throw their already dodgy freighter code into absolute chaos

Are crashed freighters supposed to leave the waypoint list once visited? I dug up all the crates, interacted with the log, not sure what else I can do here.

I swapped over to a crashed ship that some super improved take-off thrusters. One load of fuel now lasts 10 takeoffs instead of just 4. The downside is that there are SO MANY slots to repair.

PantsBandit posted:Is there a way to plant flora? Like if I wanted a house surrounded by cactuses is that possible to make happen? I wish. The game seems iffy about changing the land too much (lot of weird desyncs with building things that flatten the land for example). I usually don't cut down flora nearest to my base if possible, to prevent it from being barren.

Oasx posted:Is there a benefit to stop mining something before the tool starts overheating, or can I just hold down the button until I'm done? If you let go of the button briefly before it overheats (or anytime, really), it'll immediately go back to zero heat when you start mining again. Saves a tiny bit of time over holding the button down and letting it overheat, so I guess try it and see if it's worth it to you.

Picked this up when NEXT dropped and have been greatly enjoying it despite the quirks. Favorite planet find so far just for the generated name and atmosphere has to be this one though. To boot planet Hell D20 has a bountiful moon that was loving littered with gravitino balls and frenzied sentinels.

What you guys do when you find a good, like very good, wrecked ship in one of those distress signal point? So far I traded them for similar ships in order to avoid to repair all the damaged modules but now I have this class-A fighter which is a 28+4 and good bonuses overall but it'll take me forever to mine and refine all the stuff needed to repair it. Same for buying the materials, it'll take me forever to find all the raw materials and haul back and forth to the planet to refine. Not to mention the costs.

I moved my first base to a different spot on the planet and had the same thing happen, but it eventually fixed itself. It was actually a place I had scouted out previously when I was running around doing stuff on the planet and then I couldn't find it again, even though I thought I had some pretty good landmarks to go off of, and spent way too much time trying to get back to it so I named it "Ahab Alpha" when I finally did get to it again

My game still crashes to desktop with 100% reliability if I approach the slime-coated terminal in an abandoned building from the front and look at it for more than a couple seconds. It's wild, and affects seemingly nobody besides me. So far I have: deleted the shaders verified the game files uninstall/reinstall jiggled various graphical settings including: ambient occlusion, shadow and reflection quality, target framerate, windowed/fullscreen updated my nvidia drivers Also, as far as I can tell it doesn't leave a crash log

Had a quick question, playing on PC with a Xbox One S controller. It's been working perfectly but this morning when I fired up the game and pulled up my recharge / build menu that you usually navigate with the D-Pad it's like it's skipping every other option and won't let me choose to do some things. Anyone else had this issue?
