I think he means the specialist terminal missions to unlock farming and exocraft.

On the right side of the space station there are several people in booths. One of them gives you quests which often give nanites when you complete them. You can have more then one going at the same time.

In the blueprint scanner, you need to purchase the circular room and the door blueprints, and then plop down one of the circular rooms.

No I meant workstations originally. I just placed one on a wooden platform and recruited my Overseer, so it doesn't need to be in a circular room.

The workstations appear to be a couple units tall, so if you find yourself unable to place it on a wooden platform, make sure there's no ceiling or that it's at least a couple units up.

Some of the tips and stuff mentioned recently reminded me that the Upload All Discoveries button seems to only work for the planets or only sorta works, and you have to go through and manually upload all the plants, animals, and outposts (not individually, just hit their tab button, but still tedious). I did this for all my planets, some had like half the animals uploaded, or wouldn't have the second page done, and ended up with like 2000 extra nanites.

Grow or die.
Somehow I missed the fact that you can build all base components on a freighter. For some reason I thought freighters had special components or something. Does anybody know if you can do the whole base building questline from your freighter once it is started? I just upgraded to an A Class Star Destroyer freighter (at the cost of whatever is in my old freighter inventory). Now I want to live out of it and explore the galaxy with a fleet of broken frigates and build giant farms inside the freighter. If they would only put a teleporter in the freighter....

I assume you can't put a teleporter in the freighter because getting a new one would throw their already dodgy freighter code into absolute chaos

I swapped over to a crashed ship that some super improved take-off thrusters. One load of fuel now lasts 10 takeoffs instead of just 4. The downside is that there are SO MANY slots to repair.

I wish. The game seems iffy about changing the land too much (lot of weird desyncs with building things that flatten the land for example). I usually don't cut down flora nearest to my base if possible, to prevent it from being barren.

I put my construction and science terminals on my freighter. I can do base building quests through them. However, whenever I reach a sub-objective of "Return to your Base" I have to go to my planetary base, can't just sit tight in the freighter.

If you let go of the button briefly before it overheats (or anytime, really), it'll immediately go back to zero heat when you start mining again. Saves a tiny bit of time over holding the button down and letting it overheat, so I guess try it and see if it's worth it to you.

For some reason I had talked myself into it saving energy by not overheating, if it's just a matter of time then I don't really care. Thanks!

It's all buggy in general. I made my base "the mushroom farm" then the teraforming hosed it up, so i had to move a little ways away to "shroom 2: electric boogaloo" and even after deleting the original mushroom farm, it's still in the list and i can still (accidentally) warp to it.

What you guys do when you find a good, like very good, wrecked ship in one of those distress signal point? So far I traded them for similar ships in order to avoid to repair all the damaged modules but now I have this class-A fighter which is a 28+4 and good bonuses overall but it'll take me forever to mine and refine all the stuff needed to repair it. Same for buying the materials, it'll take me forever to find all the raw materials and haul back and forth to the planet to refine. Not to mention the costs.

If you repair the thrusters and the boost, you can travel with it to a station. Of course you need to leave your old ship behind but it's not a huge problem.

I moved my first base to a different spot on the planet and had the same thing happen, but it eventually fixed itself.

It was actually a place I had scouted out previously when I was running around doing stuff on the planet and then I couldn't find it again, even though I thought I had some pretty good landmarks to go off of, and spent way too much time trying to get back to it so I named it "Ahab Alpha" when I finally did get to it again :v:
