There has never been a moment when I've been eating Popeyes chicken that my first thought wasn't "You know what would make this better? If it were KFC."

There are Church's franchises in the north. You have to go "bad neighborhoods" for them.

I've only had KFC that didn't taste like dehydrated chicken that hadn't eaten a single ounce of fat its entire life like twice. You'd just bite into a drumstick and get skin and a sliver of meat. I'd rather get publix fried chicken any time. KFC did inspire one of my more idiotic college experiments though - doing a double shot half and half with gin and KFC gravy. It actually wasn't terrible. I don't know what it was. I wouldn't do it again, but I've mixed worse things with liquor. The only bad part is the consistency and how long it takes the gravy to come out of the glass.

Sounds like you guys have lovely KFCs. Move to near my KFCs and you'll be fine. The one near my college is also a Taco Bell.

Boston reference. It was the "good bad" neighborhood in Boston, taking up basically what you would now think of as Downtown Crossing and Government Center areas. It used to be where all the porno theaters, strip clubs, "bath houses" and other semi-creepy poo poo was in Boston basically from the 60s through to the early to mid 90s. Then Emmerson College and a whole bunch of real estate developers got a bunch of land, and the Chinatown residents succeeeded in shutting down a lot of the strip clubs, and some Harvard kid got shot, and that was pretty much the end of it. The only thing that's left is two strip clubs and an army surplus store. Unpopular Boston opinion: The Combat Zone wasn't great but it was probably a better solution, overall, than outsourcing all our strip clubs to Providence.

I'm not necessarily in favor of terraforming. What gives future humans the right to travel to some planet that has existed a particular way for millions of years and suddenly change its atmosphere to suit us? We can't even take care of the one planet we've been given, so I'm skeptical of the idea that we should have the automatic right to go pollute some other planet when Earth becomes overpopulated.

We're making Earth warmer and summer is awesome. Not our fault our idiot ancestors chose to populate by bodies of water. Idiots. We'll be better off with brand new beaches and cool new vacation spots in sunny warm Antarctica.

It'd be different if there were lifeforms there that would die as a result, but we'd make sure it was just a barren hunk of rock before starting. If it's just rock and dust we have the right to do what we want to it just as much as we do to dig into the earth and take minerals/gas/oil/etc. It's irrelevant though because terraforming is pie in the sky scifi poo poo. There might be moon and mars colonies one day but it will never be anything beyond enclosed bubble things.

There is nothing anyone can say that will convince me Agents of SHIELD is good. I watched 8 hours of the first season and it was hot garbage. I also hate Joss Whedon so that probably doesn't help.

I think it's another one of those shows where people told me it would get really good in season 2, but it just didn't interest me at all. We have enough super hero movies as it is, I don't need a superhero tv show too.

Joss didn't have much to do with the show, for better or worse.

There’s a pretty good chance that the show just isn’t one you’re ever going to enjoy, but the show is at its absolute worst prior to the Winter Soldier tie-in episode. It turns out that Marvel was really tying their hands about the things they could hint at or do, which doesn’t excuse the early episodes but they aren’t working with those same limitations later on. So maybe give an episode or two of season 2 a run; that’s probably more indicative of where the show is at ever since. Or don’t. It’s a free country and you shouldn’t waste your time watching things you don’t enjoy.

Television programmes are dead to me, I dont get why anyone watches them, I think when I watch something I need to be engaged fully rather than throwing westworld or once upon a time on the telly and glancing up whenever the actor they find most attractive is on which is how most people seem to watch tv programmes.

I remember the complaints when greenlight was still a thing that it was too much of a barrier that hurt the chances of indie developers. Now they're being hurt by too much junk flooding Steam. Honestly, there doesn't seem to be a good solution here.

greenlight was the biggest mistake steam could ever make, and their only options now are to either have some kind of moderation on games that get put for sale on steam or remove greenlight entirely

Not even physical games sold on the internet. If a company can't get their game sold in Target, then too bad. That might seem extreme, but clearly the pendulum has swung far too far in the other direction. Drastic steps are needed.
