What is the definition of western games anyway, is it just "everything not made in asia" or is it specificially "anything made in north america" or is it "any game made primarily for english-speaking countries" or what Like, is there a "central games" made up of europe? Is Australia grouped in with the west? Is it entirely just an "Asian/not Asian" binary thing?

Ancient humans emigrated from that region to populate the Earth. West of that region is "the west." East of that region is "the east." Granted, that's an interpretation based on my own upbringing. "West" has interchangeably referred to the countries of the western hemisphere, the NATO allies during the cold war, and any nation not part of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia (minus Russia and countries that were once part of the Soviet Union). This somehow counts Australia. As one can imagine, politics and racism play into various definitions.

I can alo understand being leery of TLOU 2 because I'm really getting the feeling that they're going to just fridge Ellie's girlfriend. Also I'll also echo to play Masquerada, it is very good. Accordion Man fucked around with this message at 06:41 on Aug 3, 2018 |

I'd place my bet on the character dying but kidnapping is a possibility since the rescue of a romantic interest is such a universal game story convention.

I’ve identified why Valkyrie Profile dungeons are good, despite not having the greatest music ever or being all that interesting to move around in: no random encounters!! And they’re over in half an hour!!

Compared to other PS1 JRPGs I’ve played (which are basically just Final Fantasies) the tunes aren’t super memorable. And I’m playing on tablet, the controls are uhh not precise, but besides that the dungeons so far are either just corridors or just ladders everywhere

one of the game modes in mr. driller: drill land is a tower of druaga homage dungeon crawl thing. the opening is mr. driller's girlfriend/rival seeing that you need two people, one to be the princess and the other to be the knight, so she grabs mr. driller into it with her you then control her digging deep down into an underground dungeon to rescue mr. driller dressed up as a princess

i think sakuraba's stuff on the ps1 and some on the ps2 was pretty solid, his ps1 tracks are a lot more atmospheric but some of his ps2 battle themes are genuinely just solid little action beats. it's his ps3 stuff onwards where he either does dark souls or complete discordant mess
